Having to wait an hour to be seated is completely unnecessary but that is the standard here. But the truth is the food is always worth it. The service is just okay but this last time I was there, our server (Elsa) was beyond outstanding. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large.

I had the number 5, the carne con chile verde, it was above average. The wife had the abondegas...it was pretty good. The margarita and guacamole were good. For a Thursday night the wait was 50+ minutes, I am guessing due to staff shortage because when we sat down about 1/3 of the seating inside was empty.

Homemade food, delicious recipes and friendly service. Best Mexican place to try in Tucson.

Authentic Mexican Food that taste incredible. We drive an hour and half to get here and wait an hour or so to eat, so you know food has to be good!

My brother in law recommended this place and we are HUGE fans of authentic Mexican food. It was a spot on recommendation and the other 5 with us all loved about their food. Yes, it was busy and we had to wait but they served drinks efficiently in the waiting area and were very friendly and pleasant. Everything we ate was better than the last. The chips & salsa were dynamite, the Guacamole was like butter (even my husband liked it and he's not a fan) and tortilla/cheese was a unique but great appetizer also. Meals were large and flavorful. The beans and rice were good also. I give this 5 stars! A great place to eat good Mexican food that is not the American version so many places serve.

Yummiest Mexican food and strong margaritas while you wait! Long wait to get in, about 45 minutes to an hour. Super friendly service, and authentic Mexican. Mexican rice and beans very very good. Chili Relleno was fabulous! Worth the wait!

This place was amazing. Delicious authentic Mexican food. Good service and such a cute place and environment. Expect a wait to get in. The salsa was so spicy and the pico de gallo was great! I tried the birria taco combination plate, the beef taquitos, and the chicken chimichanga. I loved the beef taquitos, the chicken chimichanga was excellent, and the birria tacos were delicious. I would come here again a million times.

The place was packed and I don’t understand why. My meal was not good. I ordered a side of guacamole that was tasteless. It came drenched in crumbled cheese, but that did not make up for no flavor. My friend dumped salt on it, but it didn’t help. I ordered chicken enchiladas with green sauce. I got a plate of melted cheese with enchiladas underneath with hardly any chicken inside and no green sauce to be found. Again, it was bland and tasteless. I had to put the salsa that came with the chips to give it any flavor. Lastly, they load dirty dishes on carts that are constantly wheeling by you. Kind of disgusting as you are trying to eat your plate of cheese. I hadn’t been to Mi Niditos in 20 years. Now I remember why. Like I said people will continue to crowd into this place, but for me it remains a mystery as to why this place would be a choice for Mexican food.

Little bit of a wait for an awesome lunch! The sauce is nice and spicy. Servers are great. Portions are large. I’m a Tex-Mex fan and this food was a little different-but tasted fantastic.Be patient-we waited 25 minutes for a table on a Friday for lunch-but well worth it.You can order a beer from the cashier while you wait so no worries.

Good Mexican food served quickly once you survive the very long wait to get a table (we waited for an hour on a recent Thursday night at 7 pm…). A lively decor and bustling place full of diners enjoying their meals- this is clearly a very popular place with locals. Reasonable prices too. One of the better Mexican restaurants we tried during our recent week in Tucson, it came highly recommended, but in the end I’m not sure it’s worth an hour’s wait.
