Great place to dine. Always love sitting at the bar where they make the sushi. This place has a great atmosphere, kind employees. Spacious and very cool. Just might be my new sushi ? spot.
We have eaten Japanese food all over the USA and in Japan and must complement Kampai on their food. They were open for take out only when we enjoyed our dinners from Kampai but we enjoyed our sushi from there more than the other Tucson Japanese restaurants we visited. We did not sample their hot menu items due to our love for sushi. We can share that the fish was high quality, fresh, and abundant in the nigiri, rolls, and sashimi we ate and at a fair price. We loved it because the rice did not overwhelm the fish and the fish we received was nicely proportioned versus just a sliver that you might find elsewhere. This place might be easy to miss or drive by, tucked away in a strip mall and might be the best kept secret for great sushi in the area. We ordered food there multiple times and it was consistently good and liked it better than food from other places nearby - now it's our "go to" sushi place when in Tucson.

I've tried almost every sushi place in Tucson, and Kampai is the BEST! It's better than any place in Phx, too! Love the salmon handrolls. Fish is always fresh!
