I was happily surprised by the food and atmosphere. We went to a jazz show. I thought the outdoor venue was too loud, or maybe I'm too old. The indoor event space was perfect. Great staff and owners.
Always like the place as it has good music and it is always hopping. Unfortunately, and I am being picky but we were outside and were next to smokers no other tables were available so we left. Also had an old fashion not sure there was any booze in it and it was waaaay to sweet.
Historic, gorgeous, and 3 bars all in one building - what more could you want? I've seen probably a dozen shows here and always been pleased. Keep in mind it can get fairly crowded, but always worth a stop at the end of the night.
What a piece of history! My visit was on a Friday night when there is a lot of music and people. A lively experience at a place with spooky ties and great beds to rest well upon! A restaurant and multiple bar locations are within this interesting and rich environment where John Dillinger and a big fire are well noted historically. Stay here at least once in your lifetime!
I agree with the posters about the noise and other issues. If it is a historical authentic 1930's experience, there should not be rock n roll blasting at night until 1 am from inside the hotel. . An occasional event will be fine but as a steady diet, not for all travelers. "Book another hotel" as an answer to Brian's review is cold and callous and doesn't let anyone wanting to book the hotel get a warm and fuzzy. The Hospitality industry does not work like that. The place is amazing as the building is original and showcases past historical events through photos. The rooms are authentic and of course small with ancient plumbing that could use renovating one day. But the recent room renovations are wonderful. However, I have no complaints about this part of the authentic 1930's experience. I live in Phoenix and as a lover of history, I like the hotel and stayed there on several occasions in the past but the attitude and misleading information is not appreciated along with the noise any longer. Each time I went, there was always something that put a negative spin on the experience. It is sad, it is a cute boutique hotel that can attract more higher clientele if they cleaned up their act and moved on from their aging rock n roll theme. After all, they are still a hotel and they do need to supply a quiet place for sleep as well as "varying entertainment". Also, they need to get a lift. The world is ADA compliant grandfathered in or not. Even ASU constructed an elevator where there was none in a "grand fathered in" historic building on campus for today's traffic, something The Congress Hotel has a lot of and yet to do. Authentic is not being a " rock n roll" themed hotel. It is not Disneyland. There is no parking and the place is just too noisy for getting rest and not ADA accessible. Time for a change perhaps? Just saying. The dates will not allow me to sate that I was a frequent visitor from pre pandemic day's for years. I was forced into stating 2021. Patty
Lovely historic hotel in downtown Tucson. We fined outside which was perfect on the day we visited. The silverware comes wrapped in cloth napkins, the food is served on nice plates and the waitstaff are well trained and personable. The food was delicious. We had breakfast foods and the small potatoes were super delicious. The only was filled with cheese, mushrooms and sausage. The only disappointing thing was the toast which was cold by the time it got to me. We enjoyed coconut cream pie after our main course and it was the second best that I have ever had in life. The crust was crunchy, filling was thick and creamy and the whipped cream was stiff and creamy. It was worth $8.
The Hotel was gorgeous. Beautifully decorated. The Cuban sandwich was just ok. The Mousse Cake was taken off the menu. What a shame. It was to die for. Our server lacked people skills. Or was very new.
The main reason to go here was the Cup Cafe. The entry into the hotel is a capsule of times past, well maintained and funky. The Cafe was a delight, able to dine al fresco. Excellent wait staff and the food was well worth a very reasonable price with a very good wine selection. The experienced lived up to expectations.
My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday. The hotel staff are so sweet! I had a paranormal experience here and I loved it. Pat was so awesome and told us stories of hauntings. The rooms are clean and vintage. There are lots of restaurants around there but the Cup Cafe inside was incredibly delicious! Highly recommend it! We plan on staying here again for my boyfriend’s birthday.

This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't regret it.Great jazz festival! We had a blast. The bar inside is outstanding and the bartender is the best. Try his Manhattans they are amazing
