Everything is slow and below mediocre. Instead of busting tables as people leave they wait for there to be a need for a table to clean it. It took 15 minutes for them to clean a table off just to be seated in a near empty restaurant.The waitress was quick to take the order but once she had taken the order that was the last I saw of her. Well not the last I saw of her. She stood at the computers texting on her personal phone the entire time. Sat with empty glasses the entire meal. The sushi was just palatable. The tuna in the spicy tuna was by no means fresh. It had an ammonia flavor to it. Save your money and eat sushi somewhere else.The only reason she came to give the check was because the bust boy went and tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention that her tables needed tended to. Won't be back and will not recommend.

tldr; if ordering 1 meal or having food made in front of you, it's great, otherwise steer clearOnly reason I'm not writing a 1 star review is because 2/3 orders were made correctly and with relative speed. HOWEVER, that third order was: submitted to the kitchen incorrectly, took forever to arrive back, and when the order had finally arrived, our original server went on break and left us with a server who barely spoke English (and I doubt Japanese either, not that I speak it either). Then when that server delivered the meal, we asked for boxes to go, and she begrudgingly gave them to us, not sizing up the food, and when other servers (including one who ended up claiming to be a manager) were waved at to get another box, we were COMPLETELY ignored.
Attempted to order over the phone and the person wanted my debit card details and stated “you can’t order without giving me your card information over the phone” I politely declined and told her I’d pay as soon as I get there and she hung up on me. Upon arriving I placed my order and had to wait an additional 30 minutes, this was on 5/20/22 at 10:20 pm. The person working the phone and front lobby needs better training, otherwise Hana Tokyo will continue to decline.
Went to have dinner with my wife and toddler daughter for my birthday. Waited for 15 minutes and 3 servers walked by several times serving people seated all around us, not one stopped by and said anything to us. We left to eat somewhere else.
We like it!!! A lot!!!! ? it was a great time. We just moved here and we're in the mood for sushi now that more places are open. It's a family place, great bar, happy hour all day Saturdays! Sushi was delicious, their bento boxes are pretty great, good big portions. Service was 100 percent!
No stars, didn’t stay to eat. Waited 20 min for service, table to the left of me had waiter serve them 3 times, table behind me once. We weren’t given water much less informed that service was delayed. Watched 6 employees standing around. A busser finally asked if we’d been approached. Didn’t feel any need to spend my money at that point. It was a Saturday around 4:30 & wasn’t busy. Not sure if it’s because we were the only African American but sure felt that way. Walked out will never return.
Lunch special was fine. Had egg rolls and crab puffs as appetizer. Then steak teriyaki with California rolls and pork dumplings. Waitress brought us drink refills without having to ask. Great dining experience.
