THEY MAKE THE SALSA AND GUAC LITERALLY AT THE TABLE IN FRONT OF YOU.Dulce was the sweetest waitress and she was on top of making sure we had everything we needed. Great service, the kitchen was quick, the food was delicious. Wonderful experience overall!
Fun place! Great for out of town guests that want the stereotypical Mexican restaurant experience. Guacamole and salsa made at table was fun and delicious. Food was great. 4 people and we all loved our food and the tortilla chips were the best I have had.We will be back many times.
This place makes your Salsa right in front of you the way you want!!! Amazing!! I had an awesome Burrito that was made for two people!! Meat so tender, a lot of flavor!! Husbands dish was so good too!! Great chicken with enchilada sauce so flavorful and tender!!
food below average in taste. nothing memorable at all. Dont understand why it is fairly busy. Perhaps non discerning palates..
I ordered catering for my daughters surprise birthday party. It took me over an hour to get someone on the phone just to place an order because there were no managers available. I was instructed to call a different location where someone could help me. After 4 calls I was able to place my order. The day of pick-up I was informed (at pick-up time) that they are running about 40 minutes behind, but no one bothered to call and tell me before I left the house to get it. They offered to deliver it, which was nice, but was almost 1 1/2 hours late. The mini chimmies were soggy and realized some of the food was missing from my order. I called to speak with someone about it and was told they were too busy to talk to me. I have called 4 times since and have not gotten ahold of anyone. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! I will never order from them again!
I am here from out of town, but have lived here and wanted to go to Guadalajara Grill before I left. We went to lunch yesterday at 1pm. I looked at the lunch menu before we left. When we got there, no lunch menu according to our male server. So, I said I just want a bean burrito with rice. Well...what I got was a burrito with a beans and red and green bell peppers. There's a reason I order a bean burrito due to allergies. So, when I tried to send it back, waiter argued with me. I told him to forget it and sent it back and sat and watched my friends eat lunch. Absolutely unacceptable behavior of server - what Mexican restaurant doesn't have bean burritos????? Won't be going back next time in town, found somewhere much better. ps: he asked me if I wanted my tea refilled, the glass was empty -- so, I said NO. worthless...waiter.
Tableside salsa!!! Need I say more. Food was fab.Jorge was great and Luvita made the best-and I mean BEST salsa ever. Only reason I'm giving 5 stars is because they don't have 6!If you're in Tucson and only get to eat at one place, this has got to be the one. Enjoy, and thank me later.
My family and I were from out of the state and were there to visit with my father that is in an Assisted Living facility. We planned to eat something we didn’t have back home and found this restaurant of which we tried to get into on Friday night but there was over an hour wait so we decided to come back Saturday early evening to give it a try. Our experience was HORRIBLE! There practically wasn’t anyone there but maybe 12 cars in the parking lot but the hostess made us stand at the stand where she looks to see what tables are available to dispute with another waitress which table to sit us at. After what felt like 2 minutes we were finally seated and left not to explain the contactless menu’s, let known someone would be coming by to ask if we would like salsa/guac made at our table or that someone would be back with some water or our waitress would be with us soon…..NOTHING! This nice lady came to our table to our unknown she was deaf (thankfully both my oldest daughter and I know sign language) inquired if we would like salsa or guac of which we said yes to both. The salsa was way too sweet definitely no salsa I have every tasted, the guac was blah no taste to it at all, and the amount of chips they serve you with for the hopes that someone would come back soon to see if we could get more was a joke! We sat in a booth of which was under the direct cold air blower so every couple of minutes you would get blasted with cold air to the point my lips were blue, and I couldn’t feel my fingers just because the kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant, and they had to blow the smoke out or cool the area down! My youngest daughter and I sat outside until our food arrived just so we could stay warm in the sun. Once our food arrived literally just being set on the table, we all took one bite into our food and pushed it aside as it was FREEZING cold! The experience was absolutely disappointing to say the least; my family and I waved down a waitress told her we wouldn’t be eating this food as it is freezing cold, and we would like the check. With no hesitation she got us our check and never returned! Mexican food is never supposed to be an experience like, and we will not be returning to this place even when we do go back.
This is a local chain, that self claims as the "best mexican food in town" but don't buy into it. The food is terrible quality. Only good thing there is the alcohol. People say they like the salsa, but that is not because it is good ingredients or recipe, it is because they make it at the table so its "fun". I could make the same thing at home and it would be 10x better. Please do not eat here if you are interested in authentic Mexican food. There are so many better options in Tucson.
The location was full to capacity, lively and very noisy, though this not unexpected. However, what was unexpected was the poor quality of the food, which was extremely salty, to the point it was the main taste and was otherwise bland. The Mini Chimis were over fried (and so, very hard), with almost no filling. The salsa that was mostly prepared at the table (the exception being the tomatoes which were discretely dispensed from a container under the trolly covers) was tasty. The cocktails were also good, but took the best part of half an hour to appear and had to be sent back as the waiter had misremembered our order. Thankfully the replacements arrived promptly. We ate at several Mexican restaurants during our visit to AZ and this was the only one I would avoid visiting again. Perhaps we would have had better luck at one of the other locations rather than the Kolb one.
