Omg! That Chow Fun (House) is amazing! I highly recommend this place. They have a large variety of dishes and I plan to try them all. The chef knows what he is doing in that kitchen.Side note: prices range from $13-17 on average but the portion could feed 2-3 people. We ordered as if it was personal dish portions. We had a lot of food left over.
Service was fantastic and our server was fast and efficient.I would definitely come back and try different things! We had the steamed pot stickers, which were a little too doughy for my taste and I wish the bottoms were a little more seared. The flavor was good though.The General Tso's Chicken was not what I was expecting. I'm used to more of a tangy spicy sauce and this was sweet... Which was disappointing for me, as I don't prefer sweet meat.The salt and pepper shrimp was fantastic and the bbq pork fried rice was great. Its also enough food to feed a small army.My reason for 4 stars? Boxes piled everywhere-- very messy and feels unclean. The hostess was wearing a Tshirt and short athletic shorts.. which I understand this is a family business but how you represent yourself is the clientele you attract.
The Great Village Chinese Restaurant is my local go to restaurant. I live within walking distance and am a frequent customer! Everything that I have tried is so tasty and fresh.While the food is incredible, I would have to say my favorite part about coming here is the customer service. Everyone there is always so incredibly friendly, smiley and provides an overall great experience!
I have ordered takeout and pickup from this place since I moved here from New York in 2002. NEVER AGAIN. The quality of food and service up until tonight has been amazing. Today on 3/20/22 as I was walking southbound down Harrison on the west sidewalk of Harrison, while I was passing the parking lot of Great Village I was struck by an SUV of a customer leaving. Not only did they not stop they drove away southbound down Harrison. There were not any other customers in the parking lot. I called 911 but no one answered after numerous calls. I’m so happy that I live within walking distance of this restaurant because I limped home to seek treatment for myself. Upon getting safely home my boyfriend called the restaurant and the waiter that answered thought what happened was a joke. My boyfriend asked if they had any security cameras outside of their business and the waiter laughed it off and said “no why would a restaurant have cameras outside.” Needless to say this parking lot is sketchy like no other. They do have amazing food, but does it matter if you get ran over in the parking lot?
Great Village is always a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the service is spectacular. Whether it is ordering to-go or dining in, you'll get great food and be greeted by kind and helpful staff.
They are amazing here. I've been going here with my friends and family for more than 15 years and not once have I ever had a bad experience. They give excellent portions for the cost and with their variety of dishes is awesome. I always have plenty of choices and always have leftovers for the next day.
I love eating here, Everything that I have tried is so delicious! Large portions, Prepared perfect. I would recommend this place for anyone who loves This kind of food.
Having lived in China, I am a bit picky in my choice of Chinese food this side of the Pacific. As far as I am concerned, Great Village ranks in the top 3 Chinese restaurants in Tucson. The food they cook is tasty and reminds me of some of the flavors I experienced in Beijing. My favorite dish on their menu is the Mongolian Beef. It is served extremely generously. The beef is well cooked but not chewy. It has a rich taste which makes me think they marinate it. The green onions give bite and freshness to the whole dish. Their rice has the texture of Thai sticky rice: not watery, not overcooked, just right. The sauce has complex flavors that really give colors to the whole dish. The food is fresh, NOT frozen and microwaved. Service is fast: order by phone, pick up your dish 15 minutes later. I keep coming back, I rate them 5 Stars without any hesitation.
