The menu here is authentic mix if various chinese food. My son and I ordered the mushroom/spinach bun which came out as a huge large steaming bun that was both soft and delicious.I had the chicken/shrimp/scallop noodle soup. I was extremely surprised in a pleasant way at just how good the broth tasted. it hit me with a wallop. It was perfectly balanced in terms of seasoning and water to chicken fat ratio. really really good. the noodles are served separately and you add as much or as little at a time as you want.My son has the spicy beef soup. He loved it. It was Sichuan style with the tongue numbing pepper that he loved. The soups above were served in gigantic portions! We also ordered the veggie dumplings. You get 15 for $7.50!! We were too full and took them back to our hotel room. Great snack if your hotel room has a fridge. here too the dough was on the thicker side but done right. Dumpling mostly cabbage but super delicious. What i didn’t like about this place is that it’s ok to be a divey chinese restaurant, been to plenty back home, but in Tucson you should have ample AC. It was hot inside and not pleasant. Also they serve their dishes in styrofoam take out containers even when you eat in. Not a great eating experience. I assume this is a 99.9% take out place.Over all the food was great. If you don’t know about this place, it’s a gem in the rough (literally :))
The affordable prices and portion sizes of their menu items are unmatched. The service was fast and friendly-- I'd highly recommend. My favorite was their veggie dumplings, they come with a really great dipping sauce!
I was wishing for a Dim-Sum dumpling bar but didn't think there were any left in Tucson. Pretty sure I'm right, but poking around online led me here, and I stopped by. The noodles with chicken & scallops were delicious, the tea eggs were great, and the BBQ pork bun was... so-so. Nice and fluffy, but there wasn't much BBQ flavor in the meat (tender, though, and the bread was nicely fluffy.) I still liked the place to want to try it again-- all those dumplings! Definitely not much to look at, but the food was good; so I'll be going back.
I lived in different parts of China for about 3 years, and I can tell you that this is the most authentic Chinese food I've tasted here in the U.S. thus far. Obviously I haven't been to every Chinese restaurant in the country but I've been to a fair share of them..for the price and the quality of the food at China Pasta House, I haven't found any better! Let's hope this business stays open for many, many years.Thank you for the great food! ?
Excellent dumplings for very cheap. Fantastic dipping sauce. Excellent service and quick too.
This is such a hidden gem of tucson. I Love their steamed buns and the sweet bun paste are to die for. Everything ive ever tried has been so delicious. Their portions are so generous too it feels like your going to your grandparents for a good meal. I feel cozy when Im done eating.
One of the best meals we have eaten here. It helped that today was cold and the perfect weather for hot soup with noodles. Don't let the exterior or plastic forks fool you. This place is awesome, and affordable, but mostly awesome. We had pork buns (bao), soup dumplings (better than we had in Hong Kong), braised beef noodles, and hot hot and sour soup with noodles. It was amazing. Glad we ordered more to go.
If you come here, all the dumplings are phenomenal, as well as the tea eggs and scallion pancakes. This place is humble but is home to the most authentic and delicious Chinese food in Tucson. The owner is very kind and the prices are great. I’ve been coming here for years and I won’t stop any time soon!
This is an actual, authentic Chinese place run by Chinese owners, I was so pleasantly surprised by the food. The tea eggs are the absolute best, the dumplings and huge pork buns, they're all so good!I grew up in Singapore my whole life (South-East Asia) and was missing real asian food - didn't think I would find any place but here, it really hit the spot for me. Portions were so huge I couldn't even finish them. Reminded me of food from home. Loved this place and had a great conversation with the owner who's been living here for decades. Huge recommendation as a Tucson's authentic, chinese food!!!!
Pros: cheap, feeds a crowd, supporting a small business. Perfect for the hungry college student.Cons: food is okay at best, if you are lucky to get it cooked properly. Hole in the wall but does not live up to the hype.
