Excellent Food! I was completely blown away by the flavor of my steak! I was in awe because my steak has never tasted like that! If you’re looking for damn good steak then look no further because this place got it right! For dessert we got the special and the flavor just kept coming! Thank you Charro Steak & Del Rey… you have changed my opinion of what Arizona has to offer when it comes to the quality of food. I just moved here from Texas and I continued to be amazing with each item I tasted. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it. Fantastic Job! Can’t wait to go again!
We were in Tucson for a concert and needed to get something to eat before the show. The 3 of us agreed that a steak dinner sounded good and we ended up at Charro. Nice place, decor was cool and staff was friendly. The menu wasn't really great with really not many options. I ordered the Filet and my friends went with the Porter House. The steaks were about $49 and $42. They only came with beans and 2 tortillas! no side salad, no veggie, no potato! They gave us the option to substitute rice for the beans which we did. The rice was AWFUL! Dry and bland. Probably should have went with the beans I guess. We ordered a side of seasoned fries to share. Nothing special there and was supposed to be enough for 3 people to share, but really was a small portion for 3 people and almost $9. The steaks were great though! I mean REALLY GOOD! That was about the only part of the food that was good though. Our bill for 3 of us was $190+ plus tip. For basically a steak, fries and dried up rice and beverages. Won't be going back ever, won't recommend to anyone else either. Unless of course you want to pay about $50 for a steak and some beans or dried up rice. You would think that if they are trying to be upscale or high end and want to charge that much for a steak, that they would offer baked potato or a veggie or allow some substitutions, but they didn't.
Julian gave impeccable service; atmosphere is great; food was good. The ribeye was not as thick as I like but it was very tender and well seasoned.
The aged beef in the cooler looked amazing but we didn't bring our big appetites. We enjoyed the flavorful Chef Carlotta's All Natural Chicken Soup (huge bowl) and the cast iron mushrooms along with prickly pear glazed albondigas. yummy. Thank you to Nique for excellent service.
The food was GREAT and the service was AWESOME.
Great food, fantastic atmosphere and amazing service! (Chris is the best!!)Our favorite place to eat now❤️Strongly recommended!!
While visiting friends in Tuscon had a night alone and wanted a steak restaurant. We got a recommendation for Charro Steak and decided to try it. It may have been an off night but it is worthy of mentioning since our experience was so universally poor. Where to begin. First of all we were seated at table too close to the bar with a light shining in my wife's eyes from outside. After moving our table was okay even though too close to a large group even though the restaurant was almost empty. The food was uniformly poor. The guacamole was tasteless and we had to add lime and salt. The charred romaine wedge was poorly prepared. The quality of the meat was not up to steakhouse level and more like Outback Steakhouse. The charred brussel sprouts were almost inedible. It was essentially a totally tasteless poorly prepared meal. The atmosphere and service were okay. If you don't care about food you might enjoy this place.
We were recommended to this restaurant by friends that live part time in Tucson. We made reservations & I highly recommend to do so. There are two sides of the restaurant: the steakhouse & Del Rey the seafood side. The atmosphere on the steakhouse side was fine dining. The menu had a lot of options, a good wine list & a full bar. We brought my dad there for his 79th birthday & he thoroughly enjoyed it. A good fusion if steakhouse & Mexican food. They had a great staff & did a nice churro style dessert. I would go here again & would try the Del Rey side next time.
Shout out to my server Griffin he was attentive and making sure we were taken care of and came in timely manner for refills on our drinks. The t-bone steak was really good I enjoy my meal as well as my husband. Over all had a pleasant experience. Thank you
Great flavors in a fun atmosphere! We had family in from out of town and this was the right blend of southwestern flavors in fresh food…with a nice wine list. We enjoyed the table-made guacamole (a must-have!), as well as the surf and turf enchiladas, charrochurri salmon, seafood special, ceviche and the mesquite pollo asado. All were outstanding, though beware that the ceviche has a kick! Even though the restaurant was very busy (Friday night and we had reservations) our waitress was really great and attentive. My only advice might be that the live music -while nice to have- was a little loud; we felt lucky to be seated a bit away so that we could enjoy our conversation. Definitely a place to which we will return!
