This place is very very good. We liked it so much after the first time my wife wanted to go back right away. And we did. Anything Birria is amazing and the Sonoran dogs are amazing. Highly recommend!!!
They have outdoor seating. Friendly staff. You can tell how good the food is just by the aromas when you walk in. Large portions. Vegetarian options. They offer prepackaged salsa if you're not comfortable with using the salsa bar - which has a wide variety of options. Even though they weren't very busy, it took them a while to clear and clean tables between customers.
Had it before and it was good! But this time I took a friend and we waited a good 15min before even being acknowledged by the cashier. Once we were acknowledged we were told "we'll be right with you", so we waited another 10min before we were told we could sit anywhere as the place was virtually dead in the dining area when we arrived. The food was tasty but the portion size is lacking for the price that they ask. My biggest complaint is the service even on slow days
Walked in of the street, looked good, full service at the bar so we took a seat at the bar instead of ordering in line and finding a seat. Bartender was great. Attentive and friendly. Drinks were fast and good. House margaritas on the rocks with salt. Yum. Food was fantastic! Manchego with barbacoa was delish!! Tamale in the combo meal, yum! Will be coming back!
I have ordered the burrito chicken bowl and yum. Everything fresh and tasty. Service has been good and we like the patio which is cool from the sun and pet friendly. I didn't find a salsa that really hit home on the salsa bar though.
What really stood out at Calle Tepa with my first visit was the excellent service as we were approached by more then one employee and asked us if everything was good or if we needed anything, even though this is not a full service restaurant. Food was full of flavor and excellent salsa bar. 5 stars well deserved.
Good food . A bit pricey though.EDIT....3-3-22 Stopped in today for a quick burrito. Asked for the rice and beans on the side, not in the burrito. Aaaaaand...they were inside the burrito. I cut it in half because they're pretty big and the shredded cheese wasn't melted and it wasn't cold, and it wasn't hot. Kinda warm I guess. They still charge for chips to munch on while u wait which I find ridiculous because they're just stacked up next to the register in bowls ready to go. Why not just give 1 free bowl and charge for a second bowl? Won't be going back for awhile again. I just happened to be in the area. Also noticed a guy looking around for a waitress because he had ordered a pitcher of beer with some friends on the patio. I heard his frustration as he walked past my table. They did bring the beer about 5 min later. They had maybe 10 customers between the bar and the restaurant. Absolutely no reason for such slow service.
The restaurant has a great vibe but it's very expensive for what they serve. $15+ for 3 street tacos and a tiny side of rice and beans is a lot. I understand they have a salsa bar but they charge extra for chips. Overall the food was ok. For that price I would have wanted to say it was worth it but it isnt. The service was good though.
Even though it's only their second day surving breakfast items, they were extremely helpful letting me know what options they had and explained their new menu items. Everyone was extremely friendly and the food was on point.
This was our first visit and I have to say this is one of the best Mexican food places in Tucson. The food was fabulous, the salsa bar was off the charts, and the service was great!
