Disappointment strikes again!? It's been several years since our family has eaten at Brushfire BBQ. This recent experience was almost as negative as our first time @ the Campbell location. The ambience says "Barbecue", but the food does not. If I had not checked my to go order before leaving the store, I would have been more irritated and let down. The customer service was great upon entry through picking up food. We paid way more for our 3 person order than most BBQ restaurants in Tucson. Our beef ribs were dry, no flavor to them and no evidence of being smoked or slow cooked. The brisket looked liked and tasted like roast beef. The Mac & cheese was awful. The baked beans were the best part of our meal. The corn on the cob pieces were unseasonably. Everything we ordered was cold in temperature. Needless to say, we'll not be returning. ?
I'll start off with the fact that I'm a bit of a barbecue junkie and do a lot of barbecue here at my house. I've been wanting to go to this barbecue joint for a few years now. My wife was out and said to me, I know you've always wanted to go to this place and I'm on my way home so do you want me to pick up some barbecue, so of course I'm not going to turn that barbecue down from a place that I've been wanting to try. I asked her to get me a meatloaf sandwich, she also picked up a brisket sandwich for herself, chicken tenders for my son with a side of coleslaw. She also picked up two other sides which were mac and cheese and deviled egg potatoes. I excitedly waited for her to arrive so we can try it, granted take out barbecue is never as good as sit down barbecue at the restaurant knowing it would probably better there. I'll finally get to the point. Bottom line is the best thing on the menu was my son's chicken tenders and his coleslaw. Cooked perfectly! The coleslaw was pretty good too. Now the bad, the mac and cheese had absolutely zero flavor almost as if I was just eating wet macaroni but I could see the cheese but ZERO seasoning. The deviled egg potatoes to me taste like red potatoes with paprika on it. My wife's brisket sandwich tasted okay but broke apart when pulling the meat having zero spring to it and was a dry (a product of take home BBQ) but wasn't the only problem. My meatloaf sandwich didn't look good and also did not taste good even adding BBQ sauce. I thought of giving them another try but sorry to say I don't think I'll be going back here again as there's too many other barbecue places to try. I know they have pretty good ratings but I don't know if it's based on food or something else at this location.
We got the food in a very timely manner! And It was good only reason there isn't 5 stars is cause my teeth hurt from chewing a couple pieces of fat or bone. Otherwise for my first BBQ place it wasn't a bad choice and I'll go again.
Lived in Tucson for a very long time and have never tried it... it was alright. Best thing was the Prickly Pear Tea. The Messy Mac & Cheese was good, but it was predominantly fries, which were good, but not what I was expecting. My husband's Turkey Sandwich was just that.... bread and turkey (pictured: half of it).Again.... it was just alright.... probably won't be making an effort to go back any time soon.
I love the food selection, I like their sauce, but the meat, especially the brisket was Horrible! And when I went to return my daughters nachos with the brisket I was told that's how our brisket is. Gummie and chewy, daughter could not enjoy nachos, the meat was not edible. Chicken tenders for 2nd daughter was hard as ROCKS
Food was great some minor issues they could focus on but everything tasted good considering. Prices per portion was good. Great service.
This is what $65 on the door dash app gets you. We ordered 2 meals plus a $5 up charge for the prime rib . The fries side is missing . Ordered a side of sweet potatoes for an additional charge and the container was busted so EVERYTHING in the bag was covered in the syrup . Thanks Brushfire for ruining my night ?
Ordered the roasted chicken meal. Chicken was delicious ! The sauce was great ! I personally did not enjoy the fries as much. Their seasons aren't something I'm used to, but still great. Wonderful service for me and my two other family members ! Great place
My wife and I went to lunch here today based on it being rated a top ten BBQ option in Tuscon and it being nearby. We are somewhat BBQ snobs and were disappointed in the BBQ sauce they utilize... it leans toward ketchup taste more than BBQ in our opinion. The food was fresh and tasty, but it didn't reach our expectations for BBQ as we enjoy it. The service was good and patio seating was nice.
