I am never one to be overly critical of restaurants as every restaurant has good days and bad days. However, after our experience there recently, I feel I should say something. Firstly, Colleen was an amazing waitress! She was very friendly, and she was extremely efficient with all aspects of our dinner. All in all, all of the staff we interacted with were wonderful! We ordered Lobster Bisque and a shrimp cocktail. The bisque was great! The shrimp were poached, but they seemed undercooked, and they were very limp when picked up. We both ate one, but they just weren't great. Colleen promptly returned them to the kitchen, and the chef informed her that the poaching process can make the texture seem different. I figured that was probably correct, but they took the shrimp off our bill. We both ordered a six ounce filet with scallops. My girlfriend prefers well done, and I prefer medium. Her steak was medium rare at best, and my steak was blue rare. Aside from the doneness, the cuts were terrible. Both steaks were full of gristle and both were tough even though they were cooked rare. My gf sent hers back, and it came back still too rare for her. She tried to power through it. I did not send mine back, but I couldn't finish it. It truly did not taste like a prime cut filet mignon. Colleen was very accommodating and patient through the whole dinner. She never once made us feel like we were being "those guests"....and we truly usually never are. The restaurant took the shrimp cocktail off and gave us free dessert. I will say the drinks and wine were fantastic! And, again, the wait staff was friendly and understanding. The actual dining experience was nice. We enjoyed being out and relaxing with good drinks. I was really expecting a great steak prepared correctly the first time. I think all of us expect that for a known steakhouse....and for $65 per steak. I would go back for drinks...never for steak though.
Steaks were delicious, great service and ambiance. Perfect place for a special occasion or romantic meal out.
