Update as of 5.19.22- Tried Solar again and this time it was hot fire! Absolutely delicious (albeit still expensive AF). Will be back just not too often or I'll go broke. Highly recommend the burger and fried pickles.OBSOLETE REVIEW: I had different expectations of how my visit here would be. It is very pricey and tasty, but not delicious. I spent about 20m waiting for my food to be prepared and was bummed when it didn't feel worth it. I'm glad I was able to experience Solar but I don't think it's for me.

Waste of time and money. I got the macaroni and cheese and a burrito, first, the macaroni noodles weren’t even cooked all the way so they were a bit hard and chewy. Second, the macaroni and cheese was VERY BLAND! I don’t even know why it’s on the menu, I’ve had plenty of vegan Mac and none of it ever tasted this bad. Third, the burrito was SO SALTY I couldn’t even finish it! Every bit you could just taste so much sodium and that is not okay! There are plenty of good vegan restaurants around, please go elsewhere!!

The fried pickles with the sauce were really good, along with the plant burger. The Mac and cheese in my opinion was less flavorful then I would have hoped for. Outside of that, it was good. Really liked the fried pickles sauce.

Ordered 2 Cali burritos on DoorDash at 1am with low expectations.. Burritos were freshly made, huge, and way more delicious than I expected. Def my new go-to for midnight meals.. can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

tbh i was kinda bummed by this whole experience, but i suppose i should have done more due diligence before eating here? (but also it’s a vegan restaurant, why should i have to do more homework than that??) the ordering experience was very dystopian, the process of getting updates and then picking up my order felt uncomfortably orwellian. the whole establishment is a lifeless box more akin to a rat maze than a restaurant. did humans makes my food? did humans serve me my food? perhaps, but i will never truly know. considering the fact that i plugged in my own order, picked up my own food from the feeding box, and bussed my own table, why on earth did i add the maximum suggested tip (25%) to my order? oh right, because i know that at eateries like this the workers are not paid well and that owners are expecting nice customers to subsidise the payroll so they can reap more profits. which, by the way, are probably quite healthy considering the lofty prices. $18 + tax + tip for a vegan chick’n sandwich might be would i would expect to pay in midtown manhattan at a michelin-star restaurant for lunch, but not what i had in mind for a shoebox establishment in the shadowy armpit of the valley. all that said, the food was the one redeeming bit of this experience, certainly in the top 25% of vegan meals i’ve eaten.

Truly disappointing!!! Expensive Salty Disgusting Food!!!! Everything was terrible! I ordered my food on a kiosk then waited for One Hour and half to be alerted. I was never alerted to retrieve my food. Checked on the kiosk only to find my food waiting in a locker getting COLD The macaroni was SPOILED!!! It reeked havoc. It was truly disgusting. The fries were salty. The vegan burger was 21.00 dollars which was outrageous just for a burger which I was desperate. I took a chance and it wasn’t worth the money or my time. If you want delicious vegan eats don’t waste your time. The cook out too much SALT on the burger which was odd and the fries. I would never in life order from this establishment. What a waste of money!!!!

I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and was happy that it was quite large. The spicy fried pickles literally dripped oil all over my to go bag and everything inside of it so that could use some work but they were decent in flavor. I'm curious to try more on the menu. But it is a tad pricey.

The building is weird and not too user friendly later at night we waited a long time but honestly the food was pretty freaking deliciousRobert was very apologetic and got this fixed right away the system there needs to be modified, where you pick up your food is not from the people of the restaurant so delivery of the food to the cubby is not fully smooth and that is not the restaurant fault. The food is great hopefully they work on making sure things get to the front in time because this restaurant is a great vegan alternative to comfort food. However the owner was very respectful and attentive and it was surprising to us!!

Let me be honest, the REGULAR chef here was terrible. Got the food wrong three times in one day, and on the third try, we didn’t bother wasting more time to get it fixed. Simple requests like “no cheese” had us missing all of the toppings and meat, but at least there was no cheese.I won’t go into all of the issues we’ve had, with the normal chef not preparing the food right, because it would be a waste of time. What is MOST IMPORTANT is the owner’s ability and willingness to help you to get a resolution that you’re happy with. She is so amazing and kind.My husband has cancer, so we don’t have a ton of money, but the food is worth it. Whenever it was made wrong, she was happy to fix it and get it remade for him. I’m not picky so I LOVE everything she makes with all of the cheese and sauces, but my husband is weird with textures, so he sadly needs them all to be removed or put on the side. When Chef Solar is working, she is sure to make the food correct for us.I hope that anyone writing a bad review realizes that if they had poor food, it was NOT made by Chef Solár. She makes AMAZING food that is more than worth the prices she charges. The fried pickles (which we’ve ordered a dozen times now) are HEAVENLY. The mac and cheese chicken sandwich is divine.Everything hits the spot. Thank you so much to Chef Solár for being a queen in the kitchen.❤️??

Wayyyyy too long of a wait. Vegan food doesn’t take this long so I’m not really sure why the wait is well over 40 minutes. With this being my first real experience with dining out with a plant based diet, it’s not a good start and highly discouraging. Edited to include that it’s incredibly over priced as well. I got the fried cauliflower and fried pickles and with a 20% tip (before I knew how long it would take) it was over $30
