Best Place I've Ever Been. I Realized Who I Was And Got To Get Drunk About It!
If you go expecting low ceilings, dingy walls, and a minute or two where you try to remember the last time you got your tetanus shot, then you'll get exactly what you expect. The place was starting to show cigarette stains in the 80s and they've changed nothing since, except maybe a light bulb or two. Because of this, you also get some of the best people watching a person can get from that type of bar. The young crowd as they first start exploring all the niches the bar scene has to offer, the hipster crowd always here to remind us that what's out is in, the crowd that will accept any type of live music, and just about everyone else. As the night got longer, the diversity of the crowd lessened. The regulars began to filter in and assume their usual positions amongst the visiting crowd. Give this place a try to at least say that you did (and survived to tell the tale). And bring cash!
My go to amazing bartenders and the owner can I just say awesome sauce good good people staff and patrons I trust my life with the staff they always look out for 100%
Good Spot..Great Vibe...Tuesday night bartender is funny AF....
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐and the second of the night. Palo Verde seemed resigned to a fate of COVID casualty, but now holds one of the top positions of Tempe Dive Bar of the Year! Music is sometimes garage and sometimes great but it's always in your face. Because there's nowhere that it's not. And this is what you should want. This place is my go to in both the live music and dive bar columns. There's a few reasons that this place is getting five stars, one is; their bathroom is more useable than two of the high-end pizza places in downtown Tempe. This is my last 6th level review. I wonder how many people give a flying damn what they have read here today.
There was no one in bar and it took almost 10 mins tell they asked if we wanted a drink
Pretty much what you would expect from a dive bar but with friendly people and good service.
Ordered fish and chips from here with GrubHub. System allowed me to place the order and waste a driver's time. GrubHub calls more than 30 minutes later to tell me the restaurant had "closed early". On a Friday night?! Hmmm... never again.
This place was the funnest place I've been in arizona.
Edit your hours, as it seems you never open during the day as your hours say. Would love to come see this place! We love dive bars...
