Stayed there last month for 5 days. Hotel is dated, but functional. Reception is clean and staff were very accomodating...........that is until you get to your room and find out its not done. Bedspreads on floor, curtains closed, bathrooms dirty and towels on floor. OOPS. guess housekeeping forgot to do that room that day. A quick call to front desk/reception and we had another room, but no sorry, no oopsie daisy, just "we'll get you another room." That said, the new room was clean and well appointed, but we were then advised that housekeeping only comes every third day, which means that if you need towels or bath condiments, you're flagging down a housekeeper for those items. Pool area is dated, but functional , but when its 115 degrees F outside, you're willing to overlook a lot of things. Pool bartender was very nice and knowledgeable about the Phoenix area and gave some good tips. The Buttes Restaurant near reception is very nice, but super pricey, something unexpected. A family of three is not getting out of there for less than $200. We ate there once and didn't go back. There is a very small Star Bucks in the "basement" near the other hotel restaurant, but hours are very very limited. Otherwise, a decent hotel for the money and conveniently located about 10 minutes from Sky Harbor airport, a big plus and there was no airplane noise. OH, and if you bring a car or even have a rental, they will charge you to park it there. Biggest Plus: Location. Biggest Minus: Dated and room service/cleaning every three days???

This is an amazingly beautiful place with so many opportunities to take beautiful pictures. When you first walk up to the front desk to check in, you have so many different opportunities to take great shots. The front desk people were so nice and helpful. The room itself was amazing and cozy. All the amenities were great and the room we stayed in had a beautiful patio and right I'm front of the slide area that is right next to the poolnwhicjade it perfect for my kids. The water was a little warm but expected for the HOT Arizona weather! Next time we stay we are definitely eating there! The only thing I was a little disappointed in was my 5 yr old grandson as for a cup of water from a man that was cleaning up the bar area(bartender maybe) and he told him no. I was a little thrown off by that but other than that our stay was amazing. The pool area is awesome and the poolside food was awesome and very tasty!

The hotel is truly one of a kind...with great views, fantastic pool and separate private-style hot tubs located throughout the exterior!!! One of my all-time favorite hotels, with a very nice upscale restaurant right next door. Bottom line - the place has it all, including a manager who treated us like "owners" (thanks Moises), making our stay even better! And - less that 15 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport and car rental location, Highly recommend the Buttes if you're staying in Phoenix!

While rushing to pack the morning of the flight I accidentally left some valuables in the room and traveled back home across the country before I realized it. Matthew Sinquefield was able to find it and work with me to get it all shipped home in safe condition.

As we enter 4 the of July this year it reminded us how bad the experience was last year. The hotel did not monitor people with wrist bands. Over 50% were not hotel guests. Many diapers. Water was too murky to go in. Over 100 degrees out so Sat by the edge. Much splashing. It is about 20 steps down to pool. No elevator. At around 5 pm I walked up the about 30 steps to pool bar. 3 employees were talking and ignored me. I finally asked for a drink. They said they were closed. Hundreds of people at pool and they close. Suggested I hike to lobby bar. I had not brought my cover up. In our hallway tinderboxes trays never were picked up from before we arrived. The ponds by elevators were green and slimy. My husband ended up with a fever that night. I called health dept to find out what type of illness could be brought on by bad water in pool. Had dinner at bar restaurant. They forgot a major part of our order. Kitchen was closed by then. They need to renovate and run like a Marriot in the USA

I’ve stayed here a few times before over the years, but this time wasn’t the most pleasant experience. Seems as though the service and up keep of the resort had been taken down a few notches. Our room wasn’t cleaned very well. Champagne wrapper and cork was still on the floor and hair was on the bathroom floor. The toilet was running when we got in the room. The pool experience. Food wrappers, empty cups and cans everywhere. There should be trash check more often. We went to the bar and worker Dan who had a dirty shirt on with his name tag on UPSIDE DOWN told us he was out of large ups cups to make our drinks, but offered to make us drinks with smaller cups. Worker Dan then saw a cup of water and asked if he poured the water out of this cup, he could make one of us a drink. We declined and ordered beer and two patron tequila shots instead. We paid for the drinks and found a spot to sit down. We tasted the Patron tequila shots and could tell the Patron was deluded with water YUCK! Worker Dan needs to clean up his appearance and service attitude or get demoted where he is not in front of people serving them. There are two sides of the pool area, not when you walk through the water under the bridge to get to the other side, it smells like sewer. There was a 2-3 year old kid running around and swimming naked. If the pool workers made more rounds they would have noticed that and said something to the parents. We also saw someone snorting something in their car before leaving for dinner. The parking lot is scary at night.

This location may be great for individuals and families looking to lounge around the pool and spend a few days. For active business travelers that need convenience and efficiency, this is not the place. The signage to the location is poor. The signage for parking, the main entrance, etc. is poor. Once you park and check-in, the people at the front desk suggest you get back in your car and drive around to the more convenient entrance for your room.Lots of stairs and walking, with very slow and inconveniently located elevators for getting around.Rooms are comfortable, but dated. Bathrooms feel almost like a 1970's Holiday Inn bathroom. Remainder of room has been updated somewhat and was comfortable, but still feels "old".Halls and rooms smell of some type of air freshener or cleaning product which is mildly offensive to me. In my room, the product seemed to be masking the smell of cigarette smoke.Food in the main restaurant (Top of the Hill may be the name) was very good, as was the service. The service at the small bar off the lobby was good, but the drinks weren't so good.I would not choose to stay here again. The stay was near miserable with the inconvenience of getting around and the poor signage. The place is a maze that probably takes a full day to figure out.Again, for families with kids or people who want to lounge around the pools, this may be a great place...not so for a business traveler on a schedule.

This was an extremely disappointing stay. I will not be back and will be sure to ensure no friends or family or colleagues stay here. I’ve visited top of the rock restaurant several times so had much higher expectations to the cleanliness of the hotel and the upkeep of the rooms. I planned a getaway by myself and made dinner reservations at top of the rock. With very little guidance I struggled to find my room only to see I was at the very end near an exit door to the outside that was propped open. The entrance to get into the floor off the hotel elevator was propped as well and didn’t require a key. There was zero safety. Upon entering my room it was very warm and the furniture in the room looked as if it had been there since this hotel opened. The shower had so much scum in the shower head and on the shower wall glass I could not have been paid to shower in there. Disgusted I called the front desk asking to be moved to a room that was not near a propped open exit door. The man came to meet me and practically ran to the next room with me barely keeping up while trying to hold my bags he didn’t offer to carry. When I got to the next room it was no better. The furniture was very outdated that it didn’t give me any comfort in the cleanliness of this hotel. To be clear outdated furniture it not an issue. It’s when furniture is outdated and looks unkept the way this furniture did that brings doubt on what else is not being cared for properly. The bed linens were also not clean and had makeup on the pillowcase. My relaxing weekend to just unwind was now stressful and I just wanted out. I called and let them know I would not be staying and that the hotel was not up to my standards. I was not reimbursed or offered and solutions. Simply said, “okay”. If you care about cleanliness I urge you to stay elsewhere.

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This site will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you won't be disappointed.I came here for a work gathering, and I do not have any complaints. The rooms are standard hotel rooms. The location is top notch. It’s super close to the airport and other outdoor activities in the area. The view is gorgeous with the mountains in the distance and the city up close and personal. I recommend doing some hiking in the South Mountain Preserve and visiting the botanic garden. There’s a filter water refill station in the fitness center on the third floor where you can get freezing cold water; it will offer some reprieve from Arizona’s blazing climate. There are four tennis courts, and you can rent out rackets and balls from the lobby.

Very unique resort. Our waitress at Top of the Rock and Market Cafe were the best I have had in a long time! They were great! I wish we had more time to enjoy the pool and amenities.
