Truly an excellent restaurant, and I'll be sad to see it go. Get your reservations in now before the owners retire. Have been several times over several years and I've never had a bad dish. I had the pork shank this time and it was delicious (as were the scallops). If I'm being honest the service was a bit slow tonight and the bar was not on their A game, but I can certainly cut them some slack since it was a Tuesday night and only about a month away from closing. Will come again one more time before the end!
The ahi tuna is seared to perfection with a blend of Wasabi and what tasted like a coconut curry. The mixed drink was alright was expecting more cinnamon spice but it really hit with the orange zest. The desert though that was a palate pleaser. The chocolate was not super sweet but that peanut butter brittle melts in your mouth just don't chew much otherwise it'll rip out a filling.
We've been going to Tricks for 25 years. We thought we'd go one last time before they close for good. Today was the worst experience ever at Tricks, something unimaginable to us in the 2.5 decades we've been going there with colleagues, family, and friends. We complained about the arrogance of the servers and lousy service and I said I'd write a bad review. The response from THREE different workers there: "we don't care what you do, we're closing anyway." Wow Wow! We left the restaurant without eating. If this treatment is any indication of their attitude now that they're closing, we didn't want to risk eating their food! How very sad that this is how Tricks is ending its legacy in Tempe. Terribly disappointed!!
Amazing food. Perfection!!!! Great service, great atmosphere. I hope to go again before they close. Get those reservations people, your truly missing out.
Excellent food and cocktails, service was outstanding and they were very busy. I heard this place was closing on June. Disappointed because I would return.
Sitting outside has a Parisian feel tucked right in next to ASU campus. The mussels were to die for & so was the Veal shank! Desserts were great too!
We found this gem 10 years ago during spring training and it has become our favorite restaurant. We usually sit at the bar and enjoy the the friendliness and professionalism of the bartenders and servers. The atmosphere is relaxing as most tables are outside under the trees. The food is always excellent. My favorite dish is the mussels served in a tasty chorizo creamy broth with crusty toasted bread for dipping. It doesn't get any better.
Had a business dinner with four and we were all very pleased. The mozzarella salad was tasty and just the right portion before dinner. The Beef Tenderloin was excellent. Took very little to cut and melted in my mouth. The other three people had the seared Ahi Tuna and were very pleased. A great choice for outside seating. Very good service. Was offered dessert but was too full to consider it.
The cocktails are on point and have a good amount of alcohol in them. Cozy indoor seating and more lively outdoor seating.
We had a marvelous dinner tonight. The beef tenderloin was melt-in-your-mouth good and the swordfish was done just right. We ordered a side of Noble bread also. Then dessert was warm peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream which we shared. Everything was scrumptious and our waitress, Ruth, gave us excellent service. The only issue was the parking. After driving in a circle for 10 minutes or so we ended up in the parking garage just west of the restaurant. A short walk and you're there!
