We stopped in here on a Saturday evening after a full day of furniture-moving (so we were all hungry). The initial challenge we had was parking. The restaurant is in a small plaza with other businesses. One of these (we were not sure which) was having some...event. It seemed to involve long lines of people (some in anime cosplay attire) and also anime themed tricked out Japanese-model cars. This led to congestion and somewhat scarce parking, but we did score a space. I would assume that this was not the norm (or at least only happens on Saturday nights...?), but FYI. Inside, the restaurant has a moderately-sized dining room (no patio). It has a sort of 'well worn' look, like it has been there a while and seen a large volume of customer traffic. We were seated promptly. The menus were in both English and Chinese (I think). One of our group confirmed that they had a lot of authentic dishes. I ordered some pork dumplings and a small hot-and-sour soup. I think the others ordered the ma po tofu and some other sort of bun-dish. When the food arrived, my soup order was about the size of a mixing bowl. Everyone had some (I had 3 servings) and we took home a large container of leftover soup. Everyone (including one native Chinese) agreed that the food was very good. This restaurant apparently does not serve beer or wine - just FYI. I'm sure if we were local, we'd be returning here.

The food is pretty great! I love their soup dumplings tho! It's so good! And the staff are so nice there. It's a nice family place.

We keep on going back to Chou's Kitchen as a regular restaurant to eat at. The staff there is wonderful and attentive. The food is great. I get the vegetables and noodles.

love this place!! food is sooo good. especially the juicy pork dumplings. service is amazing and the staff is so kind. I never leave reviews but this place is the exception. highly recommend.

Took my granddaughter here a few weeks ago and we LOVED it. We had pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and the mixed veggies in garlic sauce; everything was delicious.I had business in Tempe on Monday, 3/7/22 and thought I'd swing by for some to go to take home for several meals. Ordered the same exact thing. While the staff was super nice and I felt that my business was highly appreciated I have to report that my sweet and sour chicken was horrible and I also did not get the two sides of white rice with that or my veggies.I hope the staff reads this because I really liked going there the first time. When I got home the food was still warm and the veggies still bright and crisp, the fried rice, while not your typical fried rice with soy sauce (you can add that if you want and it tastes great!) was yummy. However, even though the red peppers and onions in the chicken were still bright and crunchy the chicken had that texture like freezer burn and every other piece I chewed and chewed and chewed and it would never break down. The last time the chicken was like good chicken. This was like inedible chicken jerky, and worst of all, there was a small bone in there that I bit down on and that was kind of gross. I had to throw it out so there was money down the drain.I suspect that the chicken was already cooked and someone over-microwaved it to warm it up, hence the inedible condition. I don't know how you would explain chicken like this.

I’ve been looking for a place that would be just as good or beat the Mekong Palace and this place is right up there with it. These handmade dumplings are absolutely amazing and the Wonton soup is very good as well. If you like Northeastern Chinese then this is the place.

We are here for our lunch date and it was delicious! We even came back for dinner so our kids can try it too, and they loved it! We asked the lady at the register for suggestions and she suggested the House special sweet and sour pork. It did not disappoint. We have found our new favorite spot.

Best dumplings and Chinese food we’ve had in Arizona. They definitely should hire another server because they were slammed but you can tell they were working hard. Food came out quickly and was delicious.

I had the eggplant dish last week and it was exceptional! Today I had the vegetable stir fry noodles and it wasn't the best, it was very salty and tasted like too much soy sauce. Not like lo mein. The pancakes with scallions and spring rolls are good. I wish there were more vegan options.

Best sweet and sour pork
