It was a scorching hot day and after my chiropractic session I was ready to go home, shower, eat and call it a day. I only saw the word "subs" and fell inside. They had maybe a handful of customers so I noticed adequate seating and a nice environment. This was a Sunday and the place may be crazy busy on any other day but I'd go again. I ordered a ham and cheese assuming there was only a slight chance to get it wrong. I didnt get the combo. The sandwich looked pretty short so I was skeptical. They were generous with the mayo and lettuce which i like. However, like too many places, they used Roma tomatoes rather than traditional ones for sandwiches. Also, like the other places, it was a lot of tomato butts on the sandwich, which I hate. I discarded the tomato. The sandwich was still pretty good and quite filling.
I’m going to share the positive before the negative. This place is always on time and friendly. I don’t get takeout for fast and friendly service. I get takeout because I don’t want to sit at a restaurant so it’s most important that my order is correct because I can’t send it back if it’s not. The last three times I’ve ordered from this place, it’s been awful. Apparently since you’re not sitting there eating, they don’t care if you get what you ordered. I always tip them when I place my order hoping that will incentivize them to actually put some effort into making it right, but no I guess not. Jimmy Johns it is I guess.
My fiance went and picked up our sandwiches for dinner. He got charged for a sandwich twice and our hot sub was made poorly and missing the bacon we had asked for. Also asked for extra chipotle mayo and looking inside the sandwich I saw what seemed to be the tiniest little line of chipotle mayo. Very upset and disappointed as a former Jersey Mike's employee.
Tried my first Jersey Mikes sub tonight. Pretty expensive but excellent quality. Was made really sloppy like they were very busy and in a rush, ingredients all over the place and not distributed evenly inside the sub, some areas had more jalapeño and bacon than others but can't hold that against them too much when the food is that dang good. Better than subway and Jimmy John's for sure. The ingredients were so fresh they tasted like they went right from an organic garden straight to the sub. The roast beef was tender and tasty, not like processed store bought meat, you could tell it was fresh from a farm. Never had crunchy bacon that was that good before. The red wine vinegar helped amplify the flavors and everything blended perfectly. I let Mike do the work and just ordered a #9 all I added was jalapeño.For what I spent on just 1 small sub I could have ate for a week at another restaurant, but I'm glad I tried it and don't regret it one bit. Just won't eat here that frequently due to the price.Best subs around!I only gave 4 stars because of the uneven spread of ingredients.
I ordered two portobello subs one regular size and one Kohana size. I got two regular size once home and opened I had one portobello. And one philly cheesesteak. ? not happy not worth the time and gas along with already stress patience on a Friday night and drive home from downtown Phoenix to Surprise. One hour plus commute time.
I ordered two regular sized subs both supposed to be gluten free. I mistakenly forgot to add gluten free bread to only one of them. When I called the store to tell them to switch it, the manager refused to and told me they can only cancel the order because it’s an extra charge. I already paid for the one half gluten free so I knew it's about $1 for the switch to gluten free bread. The manager tried to tell me "no it's $3" so I corrected him saying it would be $3 for a "giant" and that is not the size I was getting. He said either way he can't do it. $1.50 extra, really?. I spend a lot of money here and love the subs. I could have even paid over the phone but he just insisted he can't do anything but cancel the one half sub. I eat here all the time so I was disappointed and just cancelled the whole order. So instead of wasting $1.50, he wasted 2 whole subs. ($20). And I ordered elsewhere. Does anyone else think that's ridiculous he couldn't do that for a buck? lol.
Sandwiches are good, but depending on the person putting the meat on, they can be stingy with it or a little more generous. I usually have to ask for extra meat for my sandwich and then get charged a lot for just a couple slices.
Your management needs some looking into he has his family working there and fires any boys that have any kind of issues with his little brother and only likes to keep these young girls working. They are always working hard and respectful. Visit any number of fast food or sit down restaurants in the valley and these by far are the best employees.
Love the food if they ever can get it right
