The cashier lady was super inviting and helpful throughout the order. The food is good. They have breakfast options that I wasn't aware of, and are actually pretty dang good! Very cost effective, imo. Especially for the taste. Not gonna say it's superb, but always very good for a fast food joint. Easy to get in and out of.
First time eating at a White Castle, and sadly will be the last. Heard all the hype about how great there burgers were when they came to the valley, but it was never around my travels. Today I had a job near so thought I would try them out. I've worked and managed Fast Food so I know what fresh, hot, burgers should be. As I was ordering I looked at the kitchen which looked more like a assembly line of pre-made food in stacks with buns looked to me like they were steamed. Ordered a #2 combo and waited. The frys were fresh which was a plus, but then I pulled the burgers out of the bag, that just came out of the kitchen. Well the buns were soaked and soggy, the meat Luke warm. I had to remove the buns just to be able to at least eat the meat. I asked the counter girl if they steamed their buns she they cook them with onions and I showed her the soggy bun she went to the buns before they cooked them and brought only the lower half of the bun, mind that the double burgers have 6 bun pieces like a big mac set up. This is the prime example of quantity or Quality, save your money and shop elsewhere. Not worth even half of the $10.79 paid. We decided to make a trek over the White Castle on 101, Scottsdale on Friday evening. There was absolutely no one there in line and we can see why. The burgers sucked and the cheeseburgers had fake cheese on them which made them even worse. Cross that place off the list, we definitely will not be making another trip over there again.
Grew up in Chicago eating this as a kid. Most recently made a visit here to see if it still tastes the same.I ordered the original sliders and yes they are still soft and mushy. (Usually these go better when you are at a gathering having some beers). The onions here are not the same chopped onions used in Chicago, Vegas or Midwest.The Impossible sliders here come with tomatoes and lettuce. The other locations Vegas, Chicago etc don't. Adding lettuce and tomatoes to an already soft and mushy sandwich makes it more soft and mushy. Thumbs down on this .I'll probably pass on this location in the future.
Have eaten at WC since I was 3 yo (I am 75 now) it predates all fast food . In MN the Star Trib paper did a quality check of the beef in many fast food restaurants and WC came in first with the purist quality and beat Mickey D's, Burger King and even Embers. This is not a typical burger. It has a taste all its own. Relax and enjoy. Their breakfast egg, bacon, cheese on a bun is superior as well. Their sloppy joes are great as are their onion chips.
The stars are for the friendly staff and cleanliness of the restaurant. All the hype surrounding these little burgers is amazing since I found them to be average. Not once during my meal did I think, Boy, I can't wait to come back. The fries were good, and so was my frosty beverage. I can cross this off the list of places I need to try.
White Castle will always be dear to me for many reasons. First, my dad would bring them home weekly when I was a kid. This created the crave. I grew up in a far South suburb of Chicago and in Northwest Indiana but have lived in AZ for 30 years.Haven't had WC in all this time, with exception of an occasional one from the freezer. The restaurant is much better than the freezer but I don't think they will ever taste the same as they did back in the day. -and what happened to the onion rings?All pretty good though, but the memories that this little slider brings back are priceless.The pic is a nice coffee mug that has a surprise when you fill it with hot coffee. Happy 100th birthday!
White Castle isn’t available back home do we are always excited to get to eat there. Back home we have Krystal. It was hot fresh and tasty, lots of grease just like it should be! The staff was friendly and the place was clean including the restroom. We enjoyed White Castle a lot!
I really enjoy it here. Going to white castle with the kids is a really fun road trip. Very friendly service, the food is always nice and hot, the French fries are so crispy and lean. Very clean environment. I never had any bad encounter, and they're super fast on good quality sliders. White castle is my to favorite. ♥️
