Pricey but such worth a visit. The cutest items to pick up and they are great as gifts. I love how extensive the drink selection is with teas, sodas, and more. Please try a baked good (the muffin I had was to die for). Overall really cute and great vibes.
I paid $50 for the hand wash with interior clean and there were several areas inside my car that looked like it hadn't been touched or wiped such as: both front seats, the middle console, and the steering wheel.I know $50 isn't a lot of money but the quality of the cleaning left much to be desired. I'm not surprised it was mediocre given they were done in about 15 minutes!I think they rushed through it. I'm not satisfied with the service which is surprising because I've been a satisfied customer before.I guess I'll have to go home and finish the job that they should have done!
The menu does not provide much options. I asked if I could just buy a lb of brisket and a rack of ribs but this is not an option.I ordered a brisket sandwich and my wife got the burger… the sandwich was a joke, maybe 4oz of meat… not much flavor to the meat..a BIG disappointment, I lived in Texas for 15 years and know great BBQ..The burger was 2 smash burgers with cheese and a special sauce - was expecting much more from the brisket meat burger. We will not be back.
First time going to The Thumb. We are in Scottsdale from California for the AZHC (Arizona hockey classic). My husband's team played at the Ice Den, and in the next parking lot over is "The Thumb".Found it interesting that this "gas station/car wash" would have bbq. Finally had a chance to head over today. OMG, got their bbq brisket, it was so tender it melted in your mouth, egg over easy, cooked perfect. My son got their pulled pork sandwich. I think their brisket is slightly better than Copper Top. (Both are delicious). The pictures don't do it justice since it was served as to-go (our choice).Inside the place besides a lot of seating. Cute shopping area and convenience store. Ample seating for car wash customers as well. They also sell 95 octane racing fuel.
Who would have ever thought that a gas station would have one of our favorite meals (breakfast burrito) on our recent trip to Scottsdale, AZ! We loved it so much that we had to go back and get it a 2nd time. The portion sizes are so big that you we could share and both be full. Can't wait to come back and try some of your other food.
I found the thumb by accident! I was low on gas and was looking for ANY gas station when I happened on this place. At First I was confused because I saw the gas pumps but the place didn’t look like a gas station. It was many places all in one. Car wash, restaurant etc. I decided to try a side of their bbq beans and brisket. It was PHENOMENAL!! while I was eating, one of the staff (an older VERY PLEASANT gentleman) asked me if the beans was all that I was eating? I assumed he was the owner but he told me he wasn’t. He told me how much he loved the beans and asked me if I tried the ribs. I told him that this was my first time at this place. He then offered to have them prepare me one of their ribs to taste but I had to get back to my job. I really wish I could’ve tasted that rib because those beans were absolutely delicious!!! This place gets 5 stars from me not just because the beans were so good but because the customer service was EXCELLENT!! This gentleman was obviously busy due to the constant traffic and The fact that it was lunchtime. However, the fact that he took time out of his busy duties to try and cater to me speaks VOLUMES about this establishment! I live about an hour away from this place but I plan on visiting it for lunch on one of my days off in the near future.
I equally value taste and cleanliness as values in good food. Cleanliness ranks high for a gas station eatery. Taste was non-existent. I had the signature Thumb burger. Onions piled high on a thick beef patty. Adding barbecue sauce didn’t help the bland taste of this burger. My two managers and myself were extremely disappointed in having spent well over $20/ea. Seems to be a well-funded example of Scottsdale pride, spending money for its own sake to look at overpriced metal knickknacks that could just as easily be found sorting through your local goodwill. I will not return. Maybe you’ll find that my team and I just caught them on an off day.
I can't rate it because they didn't have any food. Visiting from out of state and looking forward to some brisket. Drove 30 minutes and arrived at 4:00 on Monday. When I went to place my order, the gal at the counter said: Sorry we don't have any pork, the kitchen is closed, would you like a chicken sandwich instead? Well they MIGHT have good food but don't count on getting any of it. Wasted an hour driving around Phoenix...
This place is incredibly overpriced and understaffed. You think with the prices they charge they could afford to raise their employees wages and in turn make better quality food. I got two pulled-pork sandwiches that came with a “side”. The bag also came with onions and pickles. I purchased two to-go bagged sandwiches. The total price was $33.00. Attached photo is the Cole slaw side, thumb for scale. This place got two stars from me because the pulled pork was above average and the sauce was excellent. Overall would not recommend if you’re hungry and want quick service.
Very nice people with great service.
