The Montauk is a great place to eat and drink with friends. They're usually pretty busy here and for all the good reasons. Prices aren't too bad, portion sizes are great, and the pours are heavy for drinks. Parking outside can become a pain sometimes because it gets so packed and they share with other places. Inside they have a bunch of tables, the staff is awesome, and the setting is real casual. The food is delicious, their Mac and cheese and their chicken sandwiches, and you gotta try the Mango Tango drink.
This restaurant, according to my local friends, is well known for their rock shrimp and tuna tartar, and this location was out out of both. As orders were made with our table of 12, this location was out of the rolls for their lobster roll sandwich. One of the employees did go to a sister restaurant to get more rolls, but it was disappointing. Food was tasty for the dishes we did get.
It was good to try! Loved how they had a patio for people with dog specifically, which is why we came here. Music is very loud and server is kind of slow; located right at 5th ave shop area and pretty cute place to go. Food was good-alright tho potato fries was super greasy and fish taco was quite blend. Still was a Good try!
Great brunch at the Montauk! Yes, we ordered tableside Mimosas! We had the Truffle Chips with Onion dip (OMG! HAVE ITTTT!!!!), as well as the burrata with fig and prosciutto to share. We then all had the chicken sandwiches with kale salad and Frosé (frozen rosé). Really great brunch. Super friendly service.Only issue was the apps and the main courses came within 1 minute of each other. We were looking to have the food spread out. That said, they didn't push us out early, we had time to finish and enjoy a couple more drinks.
We came for drinks before dinner and we really liked this place. The service was great and the drinks were solid and strong. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back which is a nice change for old town. We are for sure going to come back.
This was a Bachelorette brunch. The drinks were fun including the bloody Mary's. But the good was honestly only ok. We were outside which was nice, but our view was the parking lot and watched a woman get arrested most of our meal. Put up more screens! The waiter Jordan was wonderful.
First time coming back in October was an amazing experience. Friendly staff and the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Looked forward to coming back for months. Dreamt about the Mac and cheese. Finally came back 5 months later and the food was completely different. I ordered the same exact thing? The Caesar salad came with no dressing and I had to wait 40 min to get dressing?? And the Mac and cheese had completely different noodles and barely any sauce. Definitely not the same. Went from the best food ever recommending the place to everyone to sub par food not worth the price AT ALL. Ordered a drink during happy hour on Monday and the waitress charged $10 for it after I asked to verify it was part of the happy hour like what’s the point? Me and my friend ordered the same drinks and mine all came in glasses half the size of hers? Not to mention it took forever to get a table and waitresses were not friendly. Saw multiple parties that came in after us get seated first and multiple open tables that they refused to sit us at (party of 2??). Super sad that the restaurant was one of my favorites and now one I’ll probably never go back to again. Hostesses and waitresses are so young and don’t know what they’re doing.
Yummmmmyyy! This place is amazing if you are looking for a “party brunch.” It’s old town vibe with delicious food and drinks. You can make it as relaxing or as much of a party as you would like. The atmosphere is great and the servers are nice. It’s located just a few minutes walk from the water front and next to many other locations if you’re wanting to spend the day restaurant/bar hoping. My girl friend got the mac and cheese with lobster and was in love. I had a breakfast power bowl which was the perfect combo of healthy to go with our drinks!
Spent brunch here last weekend and had an amazing time! When we arrived we were quoted about 45 min for a table for five. They then said we could grab a drink at the bar outside, once we got our drinks our table was ready, only 20 min wait so we loved that! The drinks were all great! We shared a bunch of appetizers and loved them all. Our group really loved the frosé, kale salads, potato chips/dip and tableside mimosas.
We went to the Mantauk with a recommendation from a local and were very disappointed with our sandwich. There was hardly anything on it aside from the bread, of which was dry. The chicken (I had grilled) was about as thin as the edge of a knife, there was one small piece of lettuce and there was not any sauce, which was the reason it was ordered. (Had to ask for sauce after showing it to the waitress of whom was alouf about it). Don’t waste your money on this! My husband ordered fried, as his was just the same- the fried part was larger than the actual meat!! However, our chips appetizers were really yummy and the salad with my sandwich was good, too! And our kids enjoyed their macaroni. On a side note…. The waitress was rarely at our table and not once was our water refilled. (She never once asked if we needed anything and even had to ask her if we could order a drink.). Service was terrible, aside from two of the “helpers” who brought us the sauce and ketchup for fries of which the waitress never brought and we had to ask for twice. Also, after asking to show the manager the thickness of our chicken and how there was not any sauce in the sandwich, we saw the waitress laughing with him after he left our table, so must be a typical complaint for them for them to find funny rather than embarrassed. And one response he made to us was “yea… we are thinking about replacing that bread because it is very dry.” (The bread wasn’t even part of our disappointment, however, we didn’t eat it simply because it was all we could taste when taking a bite.)
