Good food and service, very cool vibe and atomosphere...will definitely be back
We spontaneously came across this restaurant last night walking around old town!! The service, food, drinks and atmosphere were all amazing!! This is definitely a new favorite date night stop for us!! Reminds me of our honeymoon in Hawaii!
The drinks were SO cute and they came in their own tiki type cup that matched the tiki vibe of the place! The mojitos were absolutely to die for & service was very great! Would definitely recommend this spot for a coupon cocktails or for a quick sushi date ✨
Fun atmosphere/aesthetic both inside and on the patio, great DJ, Sunday night happy hour on both food and drink was awesome and we had excellent service by Serena. The food and some of the tiki drinks were lacking. We had the morning dew roll, coconut shrimp, shrimp tempura roll, Spicy yellowtail roll which were all good but nothing to rave home about. The sushi didn’t come with ginger or wasabi so that was a bummer. The tiki cocktails that needed improvements were the mojito and the dark ginger beer cocktail. The mango mojito was delicious but I didn’t realize it hadn’t been stirred so I drank all the mango out within the first few sips and then it was just a plain mojito after that lol, bartender could have at least stirred it. My husband loved the Hula Hula cocktail. Lastly, the hostess was completely checked out and made no effort to welcome us when we walked inside while she was talking to friends, I actually questioned if we were in the right place when we walked in because it was such an awkward interaction. This place could be great but needs a little work! I think they around a 3.5 star ⭐️ so gave them 4.
Huge disappointment all around. Was recommended this place by a friend. I am visiting from Chicago and will say this place is a complete waste of an experience. Called ahead they told us they would seat us right away. We had to wait which is understandable. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered a beer and the glass was broken on the lip. When I mentioned it they attempted to just hand me over an empty glass. Then the waitress grabbed my beer and sloppily poured my beer into the new glass instead of getting me a whole fresh one to prevent possibility of swallowing glass. I had to insist I get a fresh beer. Then the food came out separately which I understand with sushi, however everyone got their meal except my daughter. Hers was extremely late. So overall I’ll wrap up with the following:Food stupid pricy for basically frozen food. Sushi was alright but if you want sushi, go to a sushi joint.Staff irresponsibleThey “ran out” of most of their tiki cocktails and desserts.Ambiance was sterile for a true tiki vibe. Would not recommend.
Jessie is an awesome waiter! He’s so friendly. Food came out so quick. Drinks are great. Not crazy about the food at all. Mild not much flavor. Shrimp tacos were chewy and bland the guac was super bland and boring I don’t think salt was even added. Ill come back and try the sushi next time only because the service was so great I have to give this place another chance.
I was with a group and we had planned on going to Barrio Queen in Old Town Scottsdale but there was a 45 minute wait and I had some hungry travelers. I noticed the spot across the street seemed pretty empty and it was a location I remembered being Cowboy Ciao, an Italian SW combo restaurant that lasted 20 years. A pretty good run but the pandemic finally cashed them in. We got seated immediately and then just sat there for quite awhile, the hostess never informed the waitress that she had a new table. Our server was a delightful gal who was there to make sure we had a good time. The ladies all ordered from the drink menu and were very happy with their selections in fact everyone had at least 2 of them. We also got a bottle of wine. Everyone enjoyed their meals, I was disappointed in the fact that they wouldn't let me switch one fish for another - a no substitutions policy- even though the 2 dishes were basically the same just a different sauce. So I stupidly just got a hamburger which was mediocre at best with a slice of pineapple on top which I wasn't expecting. Everyone liked there meal but me, the appetizers we got were edamame and chips guac, and salsa, edamame was cold when we got it and the chips, guacamole and salsa were pretty small for $10. Would I go back? Nothing on the menu would draw me back, it was pretty standard fare served everywhere here. By the way my friends did go to Barrio Queen the next day for lunch and hated it, they much preferred the Drunk Monk. Prices were not bad $70 a head with tip.
fun place to eat. Large drink selection. I recommend eating outside.
Very busy happy hour and spring break. I have visited over 10 times and have not seen it this busy - which is great! Sat at the round bar outside and our bartender Marcella was hustling. I will be back.
The service was slow and they were at 25% of capacity. it took almost 15 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered food and drinks.. Me and my fiancee food came out about 20 minutes apart. I had already eaten my whole meal before hers arrived. When I said something to the waitress she said it is how bar food comes out.. We were at a restaurant not sitting in so bar ..She then told me she could have left my food getting cold back in the kitchen and brought them out together..Never going back !!
