Waaay overhyped. The quality of food wasn’t any better than regular (much cheaper) sushiyas in town, it was obviously not even close to the average quality of high-end Omakase places in Japan or LA in similar price range. Service was just poor. I mean there was no such thing as ‘service.’ The chef didn’t say hi when I said hi to him. They never asked how the food was. They didn’t say thank you for coming in or even bye when we left. They didn’t seem to care how their customers feel about their food. “You just eat whatever I give to you” kind of attitude.. I would never go back again. I would not recommend to my friends. It was a terrible experience..

Absolutely incredible experience. The restaurant has two seatings per night with 6 people per seating. The experience is one you will not forget from the moment you walk in the door all the way to the tea service to end the evening. Amazing food & fabulous service. I cannot recommend Shinbay Omakase enough!

Absolutely amazing. The fish was so fresh. Everything tasted so good, but you have to adjust your expectations. This is meant to be an experience, it's not a place to over eat and get stuffed. Chef Shinji and his right hand man Suzuki were right in front of us. It was awesome being that close and seeing everything get prepped for you. Michael provided such great service with everything else, and was very attentive. They only serve a maximum of six people per sitting, so it was very intimate. We will definitely return.

Excellent experience! Everything was so ooishii! We enjoyed the dinner immensely!

Awesome spot. Worth every penny. Not your average sushi spot, definitely for TRUE sushi lovers.

This restaurant is a real treat. It very difficult to impress me anymore but Shinbay managed to do it. I'll be back soon.

My wife and I came here on 6.18.22 for our anniversary. The sake, the explanation of the sushi, the freshness, the whole experience. Definitely pricey! But absolutely worth it! We were not disappointed.

Very exclusive dining. They only take 6 guests in the restaurant. And only 2 time slots in a day, so total 12 guests in a day! The Japanese chef is very dedicated to the sushi he makes and he makes sure every single piece is to perfection!

Quite an experience! A must for conisseurs of Japanese cuisine and seafood. Your taste buds are taken on a trip around the globe with this meal. Not inexpensive, but two hours that you will never forget!

This place was really great. Honestly - some of the best fish I’ve ever eaten, with chefs that clearly care about and take pride in their work (rightly so). Half way through we were convinced we would make this a regular occurrence, but that all changed upon arrival of the check. We knew the price of the food in advance, and we were prepared for the (high, in my opinion) price of the sake. What we were not prepared for was the $100 service charge and then … being told that the service charge does not include tips for the chefs. That ended up being close to $150 extra than what we would typically pay in any other restaurant. The food and the service is great, and we were both prepared to pay premium $. However, being stung for extra charges on top of an already expensive meal really put a downer on our night. Had a great time, but for the surprises and costs at the end I don’t think we’ll head back any time soon.
