A return engagement at Sel was certainly not a disappointment save for the middling servicing. The service was not in actuality bad, but simply did not match up to the extraordinary and brilliantly creative cuisine. All of the dishes experienced were simply put, phenomenally outstanding and worthy of as many return sojourns as possible.
Everything about the experience to dine here was phenomenal. The unique flavors of the chef's full course meal and the many servers rotating throughout the night made you feel so special and taken care of. Had high expectations from the great reviews of this place. Food was mediocre, nothing really stood out. Presentation could have been nice, but when our food was brought to the table everything was runny/messed up. I couldn't hear what the runners were describing most of the time. Worst part was when our lobster was served, my fiancé had a frying stick still in his dish. When we pointed this out, it was barely acknowledged. None of the meat dishes were cooked to temperature,everything came out rare to medium rare, for this price point they should see the meat is not cooked to what they described it to be, I understand issues happen, but spending $700 on 3 people for dinner you expect more with better service and presentation.
Be prepared to drop $200 pp on the tasting menu with wines. Outstanding food and service. They even called our mobile number before we got to the car when I left my hat at the table Wine list heavily left coast centric but plenty of good European choices.
We love going to this restaurant for Thursday Night ArtWalk and special occasions. Great food and service!!!
Easily one of my fav restaurants, Chef Brandon and his kitchen crew are world class, wait staff is second to none they are always on it. Great craft cocktails, solid wine list. Easy to support local when the restaurant is like Sel, its such an easy experience, comfortable, fine dining in a casual relaxed atmosphere. Dining on outdoor patio is exceptional. Sel is family and Scottsdale foodies should feel blessed to have this restaurant in the heart of old town.
The service was very good, the server was very attentive but not overbearing. She was amazing and very knowledgeable. The food was exceptional. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every course. We had a great time and will be back.

This place is an experience and more than just an evening out to dinner. I had the pleasure of eating here a few days ago, and am still thinking about each course I had. My father, who's not very experimental with his food was pleasantly surprised with food profiles wrapped into each dish. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a break from the routine dining meal.
My wife and I had the five-course prix-fix dinner, and the quality of the food was truly outstanding. This is one of the best meals we have ever had, and we have enjoyed great cuisine all over the world. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. This is an ideal place to enjoy world-class cooking in a very relaxed atmosphere.
