Met a friend here for dinner and had one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had in Phoenix. I tried the Pasta Alex (I believe it's called) and was delighted by the flavor and portion. The bread served before the meal is just ok and contributed to the four star rating but I would visit again for sure, just to have that pasta dish.
My wife and I ate at this establishment in Late April 2022. While the food was okay, it was the worst service I have had in a long time. Also very weird that CASH ONLY. We were a tourist in the area and not a regular customer. Very different experience. I would see regulars come in and be greeted by name and treated great. We barely got our food delivered and never a refill on our drinks. When waived at the owner who was servicing the tables and asked for refills or the check, we were greeted with negative attitude as if we were distracting them. Was sooo happy to get out of there.Food was descent, but nothing to write home about. I have gotten better meals from generic chains like Olive Garden.
On April 19th of 2020 while looking for a different Italian restaurant which we forgot was the name, we happened upon Giuseppe's. I told my wife let's just go here, how bad could it be? Pawn being seated we were told that a few items on the menu we're not available, it just so happened that those were the items we were trying to order. Still, we were able to order alternative menu items. The salad was great and the meatball sandwich was so so, at least in our opinion. But when it came time to pay, I went to pay with a debit card as I usually do and is available just about everywhere in the valley. At that time I was told that they do not accept plastic, and I rarely ever carry cash on me and did not have any on me at this time. Had to leave my wife at the restaurant while I went looking for a bank or a store that I can get cash to pay. As far as I could tell there was no posting on the front door, or on the register that they did not accept credit cards. It was on the menu at the very bottom in very small letters. Who reads that? I will never go back to that place again, and have already spread the word. By the way a place we were looking for Guido's Italian delicatessen. The owner, seemed indifferent to the fact that we could not pay with plastic, though he did offer that we could pay him next time. That was a little embarrassing with two policemen eating in this establishment at that time. Of course I would not leave without paying, but my wife had to wait while I went to a circle k and had to pay a dollar to get $40 over. I'm sure that Giuseppe's is a very popular place but I will never go nor will I ever recommend it.
Friendly service. Owner goes from table to table making sure things are good. Great red sauce. Try the homemade cheesecake for dessert. It's flawless!
We have never experienced such a horrible dining experience as we did last night. We received great service and the food was good. However, the people seated at a table next to us became louder and more obnoxious as time went on. The expletives flew. My husband turned to the loudest one and, in a calm way, told him there were children present. He went into a tirade and threatened my husband verbally. People around us were astounded. The owner did nothing to descalate the situation. Finally, the man settled down with coaxing from others. The point is, apparently you can serve yourself as much alcohol there as you want and this guy had indulged heavily.
10 for corkage when website says no corkage. Staff was rude.
Wonderful authentic Italian food and great atmosphere
great food definitely recomend this place ? ? ? ? ? ?
Oh My! What Amazing Goodness! Like going to Italy without leaving the country. Pasquale the owner is so welcoming and the food is heavenly. We had the Capellini with meat sauce and Lasagna and side salads...everything is always so fresh.
A NYCity “Little Italy” experience from the second you walk inside- the aroma, ambience and friendly owners made us feel welcome. Wonderful home cooked food at a reasonable price.
