Ambiance and hostess were great. The food was average. This was my third time trying it after 5 years. Happy hour seems to be the best time to go to get more bang for your buck. The chef was kind enough to give us a free roll after waiting so long for our original order which we greatly appreciate.
Clean. Good ambiance. Service is good and waiter friendly. Food tastes great. Price is a little high for what I got but, then again, this is Scottsdale. The pineapple wontons were a big disappointment... For $11 i expected them to have at least some pineapple flavor but all I tasted was cheese. I'd probably come again but will not get the wontons.
We went as a group of 4. Used online reservation which was super slick. Server was good. Knowledgeable about the menu and the different rolls. We tried:- edamame appetizer- pot sticker appetizer- salmon salad- several different sushi rolls- sashimi samplerBoth mentioned appetizers were very good. It wasn’t the most amazing sushi I’ve ever had but it was really good. My brother loves sashimi and said it was really good. Fun atmosphere. We sat outside.
Sorta Asian-esque. I am still searching for real authenticJapanese food in AZ. The sauted zucchini and veggies instead of tempura fried was a dead giveaway. Price is a good value and the service was great. RA seems to be all about the bar which is gorgeous and well stocked. Probably a great hang out spot after dark
We went to RA to celebrate a birthday. I had a reservation for 6. Most of the tables for 4 and more are high top but they do have regular seating. There is a very modern aesthetic to the dining area and the food. It will definitely be one of my happy hour spots, the pricing was decent for that menu, it had a good selection and the food was great. I wish they would have put a little effort into a birthday gesture of some sort, but otherwise it was a nice time that I would recommend as a spot to others.
Pros: Delicious sushi and great service. The miso soup and seaweed salad were also delightful. Whatever you do, do not miss out on the coconut creme brulee – it was utterly divine!Con: The uchi no salad was very bitter and practically inedible.Overall great experience!
A very nice experience. Our server could have used a bit more drink knowledge, though was very friendly and attentive. We did the larger sushi platter, sashimi bowl, and a couple rolls. Everything was bite sized which we prefer for tasting a variety of dishes, sushi should be rolls not logs. If you want lack luster sushi logs go elsewhere. We will be back and plan on trying out the old town location as well. And for you Mule lovers, highly recommend the Japanese Mule. And the cinnamon tempura gelato is a must(serves up to 4, good luck sharing though).
I love sushi and heard a lot of good things about RA Sushi. The property in N. Scottsdale is very upscale, sharp looking with a gorgeous bar and plenty of comfortable seating including a cool patio with amazing views of the desert mountainscape. I was extremely well attended to by Manager Linda and Barman Isidro(perfect 10+ service). RA has a great selection of the classics and I was lucky to be there for lunchtime; so I took advantage of their very well priced, delicious Bento Box lunch special. It consisted of vegetable tempura, salmon, rice, salad. miso soup and SASHIMI(8 delicious slices). On top of all that great food, I added striped bass, Ikura(salmon eggs) and a new one for me: filet mignon nigiri. These were phenomenal and went especially well with the fresh, healthy avocado roll! This was a magnificent feast with enough salmon and riceeft over for dinner later. Highly recommended.
Never dined inside the establishment but I have door dashed the food from here twice. It was late night and no other options were open. Don’t eat here. Salmon looks really old and has brown spots on it. Even the ginger here looks like it was 1 month after the shelf date. I’d put this place on the same level as McDonald’s in terms of sushi quality. If your good with that then this is your spot
Terrible quality fish. Extremely long wait times. I’ve had the pleasure of eating here (sarcasm) multiple times because several friends were in town. Every time, it’s been a bad experience. If you want fresh fish there’s a lot of better places in Scottsdale. If you don’t care about fish but want good service, then this place won’t fit the ticket either
