We ordered a cheese place and it came loaded with goodies. Wine choices were good, very lively place, good service. Street parking.
Second time coming here and it was even better than the first time !!!! As soon as we walked in it was busy and packed but we still managed to grab a table and we were immediately greeted by Anthony, he was incredibly genuine and friendly and made the experience so enjoyable !! There was only two workers in the front with a packed place and he still managed to take the time and help us out, he was incredibly attentive not only to us but to everyone in the restaurant. Truly an amazing worker with great work ethic, and even better customer service !!!!! It was absolutely amazing. Great ambiance and food followed by remarkable employees like Anthony and Luis that made it so special!!
Simply WOW! I can't say enough about the Lamb Shank. I've never been a fan, because I've always received it dry and tasteless. This was a whole new world of tender, juicy flavor heaven. The sauce was superb. It reminded me of a Wild Boar Stew I had in a Belgian Farmhouse Restaurant years ago. This will be the lamb I judge all lamb by. The mushrooms and leeks over a roasted tomato polenta cake was a perfect accompaniment. My wife's Lasagna Cupcake put a smile on her face. And the Apple Cobbler was scrumptious. We also enjoyed the warm citrus olives and Bacon Wrapped Dates. I could eat the Dates as part of any meal. Don't forget the wine. They have a lovely selection for everyone. Try the Chupacabra with any red meat dish. Enjoy! I'm going back.
The servers here are sooo nice! I also never liked dry wine so much before I tried their wines! Very easy to drink. Highly recommend doing taste testing, if you're ever in Scottsdale I highly recommend trying this place out!
Delicious foods!!I’ve want to go there for a while after seen pics of the bacon wrapped dates…They are so tasty and totally worth the trip.I live in Texas.The empanada was also delicious, it reminded me of empanadas I’ve had in Argentina and Chile.Had two glasses of wine a pink Jane and a red Shinola.Recommend by Derek who has to be one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met and I’ve met a few.Outstanding Merkin wines, I brought home two bottles.Also got to talk to another gentleman who was very kind and one of the cooks gave me a sample of salami that he was slicing in the bar area. Everyone’s kind and personable there ??This location is smaller than the Cottonwood one, it feels more intimate and cozy.The gelato was also incredible, a perfect end for a remarkable culinary / wine / social experience.I can only say: You all have to try it!!!

Local wine tasting spot with a good atmosphere. A very healthy selection of local wines and very knowledgeable staff to help you find something that fits your palette. The atmosphere is very good. It does have an edge to it. This edge gives it a fun unique feel from other wine bars. For example, the music that was playing was heavy metal. Like Real heavy metal. This is not music I would listen to on my own. BUT it so went with the vibe of the bar. We unfortunately did not dine.Fellow patrons seated next to us were and it looked amazing. Next time we drink and DINE!
Such a cool place. The space isn't huge, but there are enough tables and seats at the bar that we didn't have trouble finding a spot to sit on a weekday afternoon. The vibe is very relaxed, as you'd imagine it would be, and the background music is on point. We visited twice while in Scottsdale for two weeks, and were extremely impressed both times. We tried the Chupacabra Red, Shinola Red, Tarzan Red, Anubis and the Queen Bee Mead. All were very good, but the Chupacabra was the stand out for being both very good and a price performer. Win/win. For food, we had the Harvest Salad on both visits, which was amazingly fresh and flavorful. We also had the Schinken, or 'Lunchables for adults', Noble Bread, Crucifixen Pizza, Sacred Cow and Garlic Pide. The build your own aspect of the charcuterie and cheese plates is a fun way to try a few different things. We loved this spot, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes good wine and good food. Not only were the drinks and comestibles excellent, the service was attentive and polite. Bravo, Merkin.
