I like dropping into Kona for lunch and drinks. It's usually very consistently good. They have a great happy hour menu and I've always ordered sushi when I visit and haven't tried anything else there. They have a few unique roll options as well as the standards. The patio at this location is strangely placed in an underpass - out of the sun - leading to the mall parking and entrance. My latest visit they were pretty busy and didn't have the staff to keep up, but they were all working hard and were pleasant. It's a nice atmosphere and worth checking out if you haven't been yet.
We tried Kono grill for the first time, we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The service was not bad too! I would definitely eat here again
We have ordered miso soup, it was extremely salty then the tomato basil soup was a disaster.. canned soup would have been better .. the total quality of the food has gone down dramatically.. that’s why they keep shutting down most locations.. Even the staff are not as good as they used to be .. I won’t recommend it .. but it is ok if you want to get drunk with Saki Bomber :)
First time here, food was good.. except the steak had to go back cuz it was way too pink for a MW (medium well). Dessert was great too. Had the triple brownie.
Although this restaurant is located inside the Fashion Square, it is open late night, until 1am. The Grilled Chicken Skewers with broccolini and rice was good tasting. A pretty aquarium was place at the entrance.

This is my recommendation for anyone who is looking for weekend brunch in Oldtown Scottsdale area.. The depth of their menu is insane. How they manage to make everything delicious, even crazier.Loved their Spicy Lobster Avocado Toast,spicy lobster mix just melts in mouth and topped with fried quail egg and hollandaise sauce.Also loved Kona Loco, Jasmine rice sautéed withshitake mushroom, onion and served with seared spam, beef patty and fried egg is so unique in taste.. They’re also having some interesting flavoured mimosas.. Would love to revisit this place soon ?
Some really good food. Superb service. Loved the avocado rolls and a few of the rolls. We sat outside, but it was a bit strange as it overlooked the parking garage, so fumes and horns were part of our dinner. Next time I will request indoors.
I stopped in for lunch and picked from their power lunch menu. It includes soup (I had the clam chowder), entry (I had the stir fry) and a brownie to take with you. It was a lot of food at a great price. Everything was delicious - even the brownie! They have lots of appealing items on their menu - I will be back!
