I'm a native new Yorker..I know a little about deli's. First they don't know what a hard roll is. Ordered a roast beef on a roll with mayo. The meat was over done and grity. The salami was not Genoa and tasteless... the swiss was also bad and ordered it with mustard...got mayo. The potato salad I couldn't even eat... the pickle.. unremarkable. Worst $28 I ever spent. Never go back there again.
This is a great place to have breakfast and sit outside! They have a number of egg related options with bagels, cream cheese and fruit side dishes. Very nice people work there so its always fun to stop here for breakfast.
Im newer to the area and JJ's was recommended to me by mulitiple people so I went in for first time recently and needless to say I was not disappointed. Was there again today and had the Philly Cheesesteak with the German Potato Salad. Both were great. I highly recommend anyone in the area thats looking for a sub or sandwhich to try these guys out.
This place was really good! The food was absolutely delicious and they have some really good bakery goods too. The two brothers and their father were super nice and helpful, ask Freddy for his recommendations. Their menu is insane, I have never seen a deli menu so accommodating to every taste and want, sandwiches for days!!!
Biggest complaint is the baguette... super tough, dry and quite thick so very difficult to eat as a sandwich. The chicken salad was dry - taste was ok. Hubby had ham and brie and he had the same complaint about the baguette. The service was pleasant. Worse thing you can say about a restaurant is "we won't be back!"
Great healthy and fast breakfast! It is our weekend ritual to stop by for brunch. Staff are friendly and the outdoor the seating is very nice. Give it a try!
First time ever I have felt compelled to write a review.Went to JJ's the day before the Super Bowl. Wanted to order a deli tray. Owner, Roger told us that they were slammed and they really were not taking anymore orders and that we were late to the game. Then he said, "But I cannot turn you down!" He sat down with us and patiently asked questions about what we needed and helped us order for our group. I cant tell you how much I appreciate a place that is willing to go above and beyond.Told me to come back before 9am the next day and he would have everything ready.The next day it was all ready and they walked multiple platters out to the car and could not have been nicer. We ordered for 12 people but had enough for over 20. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the cold cuts, bread, potato salad and really good cole slaw.Thanks to JJ for helping with our impromptu SB party.David W.
While I know all of my friends and everyone else in town can be found at the Phoenix Open this weekend, partying their brains out, I have to say that I've got them all beat.. I had an amazing egg bagel (toasted, of course) with lox and smoked whitefish at JJ's deli, complete with capers, red onion, cucumbers, cream cheese...there's no way anybody can top this.
YUM!!! We tried to find this place one morning prior to a Drs. appointment, but my GPS was off. I did find it another day and was SOOO Glad I did. So much better then the other bagel place and we will return when we are in the area. Friendly staff too
Take it from this Jersey boy, best bagels and NY style deli in the Phoenix metro. Great outdoor dining. Lines move fast. Everything else is great too. Highly recommended for breakfast or lunch. Have been going here for years and you can't go wrong.
