Tonight was our first visit to Jewel in quite some time and it's still great! Good sized portions, just the right amount of spice and the staff is super friendly. GO!
We experienced this Resturant last week and wow, I can’t believe we haven’t been here before. Every dish was fabulous!!! The flavors were spectacular and I loved every dish! I highly recommend this Resturant. The service was great and we will definitely be back.
I hate being critical but how this place has such good reviews is beyond me. When we went restaurant was barely half full and there were four servers on. Took ten minutes standing at the front to even get someone's attention to be seated. Ordered Tikka Paneer and Biryani and it took 50 minutes to arrive. The Tikka Paneer was basically raw vegetables charred at the ends, like they shoved it in the oven way too hot for too little time. The biryani was overly salty and basically flavorless. Just don't go here.
The food was amazing. Served in dishes so they stayed hot. The fried onion appetizer was a lot like a spicy potato pancake. My wife got a mild dish with shrimp, and I had a chicken masala they made very spicy at my request and it was amazing. The only thing that worried me was that this restaurant was empty on a Saturday night between 7 and 9pm, on the bright side that means we were seated instantly.
We have visited this restaurant on 3 or 4 separate occasions, and the food has been consistently good and fresh. We have been able to secure a table right away with parties of 4 to 6 people. Would consider this among the best Indian restaurants in the Phoenix area.
I have traveled to India many times and have been sadly disappointed by the quality of Indian cuisine in the US. I have been so frustrated that I rarely even bother anymore and try to cook my own. But WOW! I discovered this GEM gem of a restaurant tonight and am floored. Simply delicious and such apparent pride and care in the preparation of their food. Thank you from someone who truly appreciates fine Indian food. I will be back!
