We have travelled all over the United States and have eaten at many high end restaurants. This was by far the worst for the high prices. The calamari was chewy. My scallops had no flavor. Some were over cooked and dry. My husband got a parmesan crusted steak which was delicious but was presented as a hunk of beef on a plate - no culinary presentation whatsoever. We don’t mind paying for excellent food but the quality of our meals was not worth the expensive prices.
My parents wanted to find a great restaurant for my trip in town and they knocked it out of the park! It was new for all of us and, 1) it won’t be the last time here, and, 2) it became a favorite for all of us! Located at one end of the Scottsdale Quarter, we found the dress code to be a bit of everything, from dinner jackets to dress shorts. The ambiance was low-lighting (bring your flashlight for the menu), with a large bar area that was open to the dining room. There was so much to choose from on the menu. We opted for the King Pao calamari appetizer - amazing and plenty for the 3 of us. We shared a warm goat-cheese salad with thick, yummy mushrooms on top. My Mom & I each had the bacon-wrapped filet medallion Oscar style, which was a very generous filet medallions (guessing 8 oz) with 2 large lobsters cooked perfectly over top of the filet. It was accompanied by asparagus spears with a bernaise sauce. It was an enormous entree and was perfection! The thick bacon tasted smokey and the filet was as tender as can be. My Dad ordered the Chillean Sea Bass which was also a large, thick portion over soy broth. We shared a side of crispy brussel sprouts, which were also out of this world. As if we needed anything else, given we had half of our entrees and brussel sprouts in to-go boxes, we wanted to indulge in their lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream, shared for the 3 of us. The lava cake was the best we’d ever had, and large enough for the 3 of us. The service was also impeccable, with the busser at the ready to clear dishes and fill waters. The server was attentive and came by at just the right times. For a Monday night, we were also pleasantly surprised that they had live dinner music in the bar which was not too loud and enhanced the atmosphere. The maître d', in from Detroit, came by and we gushed over the restaurant. It seemed that he made his way by all the tables to visit with the guests. We had a long, leisurely, and superbly enjoyable dinner here and I’ll be looking for the other locations to visit.
We celebrated my birthday here many years ago and decided to go to Eddie V’s again. We made reservations for dinner but wanted to have happy hour before dinner. The hostess said to just let her know when we were ready for our table. Unfortunately we did not realize that tables are also reserved for happy hour in the bar lounge area and the only seats available were at the high tops at the bar. Even on a Wednesday we could not find a table or good seat. Nonetheless we settled in and shared the kung pao calamari and a couple of glasses of wine. Eddie V’s kung pao calamari is the best calamari dish we have ever had. The lightly battered calamari is coated in a delicious kung pao sauce, cooked with vegetables and cashews and served on a bed of fine rice noodles. It is a very generous portion and is absolutely one of our favorite dishes. Next time we’re at Eddie V’s I would make reservations for a table in the bar/lounge as the tables at the bar are not very comfortable. When we went to our table there was a card on the table wishing me a happy birthday. Our server for the evening was Jose and he was very good. For entrees my husband had filet mignon and I had the special of beef tenderloin with shrimp scampi and asparagus. We had a side of au gratin potatoes. Because we were celebrating my birthday we were given a complimentary dessert of bananas foster butter cake flamed at the table and served with butter pecan ice cream and a chocolate cookie. It was a great evening and a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday
I ordered the lobster bisque. They served two pieces of losbter in the soup bowl followed by a pourable container of soup broth. Thought how nice, nice presentation! Well, the two pieces of lobster still had the shell on, really! I had to order a steak knife to cut the shells. I should have sent it back to the kitchen. My husbands steak was perfect but the scalloped potatoes were very dry as they had been heated more than once! Music was so loud, good but we could not talk. (Bar area). Sorry to post, this usually is a nice place.
The restaurant’s decor and ambiance were excellent: the lighting was just right, and even though the restaurant was quite busy and quite full, it was still quiet and intimate. The food was also quite good, although there was be some shell in my wife’s lobster bisque. T The parmesan-crusted sole was a touch dry, but the flavors were terrific. The service was oddly fast-paced. We had barely received our cocktails when the bisque arrived, and my wife’s cocktail was taken by the waiter before she had finished—and without question. We felt we had to guard our dinner plates because we were asked at least three times if they could take away anything when we were clearly still eating. Just rather unnerving. We went to dinner at Eddie V’s to have a relaxing evening, enjoying some good food, good cocktails, and conversation. We were out in an hour and fifteen minutes.
Great happy hour 4-6 Monday-Thursday. Good drinks on the happy hour menu. Crab cakes are the best! Lots of crab, little filler. Make a reservation . Place was packed by 4:40
Very busy yet service was perfect. I had a wonderful sea bass dinner. It was perfectly cooked. Paired with a crisp Mosel wine.
Our first time here and we enjoyed all of the fresh seafood selections, along with the extensive champagne list. Nico did a terrific job as our server. Were very pleased with the prices too. Would definitely return.
Tonight was the second time I've been to Eddie Vs and I must say, I absolutely love everything about this restaurant! It offers perfect ambience with great food and great service. The staff is incredible! I've been impressed with both visits. I have decided to make Eddie Vs my go to place whenever I want an exceptional upscale dining experience. Thank you for always being so impressive!
Visited during work dinner. Had reservations and sat immediately. Had a very good service staff. Attentive and helpful while also being patient with our detailed split check situation. We thought Miroslav would hate us but he was very very good.Ordered so many wonderful dishes. Standouts were the warm goat cheese salad. The warm mushrooms make this salad!! Sides, the lobster mashed potatoes, truffled Mac n cheese, crab fried rice and the Bananas Foster dessert the server brought to surprise us. Such a treat!!
