Barrio Queen served unique Mexican cuisine. The flavors were amazing. The portions was massive. The decor was colorful and gave a Spanish villa vibe. They offer a extensive alcoholic menu and a happy hour is available . The tortilla chips are brought to your table before your meal with salsa. Those alone will keep me and my girlfriends coming back.

Great authentic Mexican food. Sat outside on patio, party of 8. Everyone left stuffed and happy. Table side guacamole was excellent.

While out shopping I asked a couple of different associates working in the stores were a good place to eat would be. They all mentioned if I wanted Mexican to try out Barrio Queen. I did and the food was great. I highly recommend this restaurant. Oh and they had Pacifico on draft!!

I recently moved from Phoenix to Mesa and in between I found this restaurant that I always wanted to try back in W. Phx . I had asada shrimp and fish tacos .. DID not disappoint delish & my daughter ( wish I took a photo) had pork melt sandwich and tomato soup not any soup it was amazing real rich not runny and had sautéed onions which went so good with the pork . Beef torta was good but not anything extra special .They sell merchandise that’s so cute to look at and the patio is so nice for summer nights like Mother’s Day dinner below

Wait was long but we were able to take our yummy spicy margaritas outside and wait. The Aztecs Burrito was ok but delicious the next day in left overs same with the Mariscos. Overall food was decent and service great.

Unmatched margarita menu! Truly the best table side guacamole. Delicious tortillas and wonderful flavors all around!

We ate her on the recommendation of our Uber Driver and Front Desk clerk at our hotel after indicating we wanted to go where they have really good tacos and margaritas. Barrio Queen did not disappoint! It’s located in Old Town Scottsdale and has a cool atmosphere. Staff is friendly, service quick, and can we please talk about the guacamole that is made table side?! They put in pomegranate seeds and it’s a game changer. We’re not really fans of pomegranate but we decided to just go with it and we’re so glad we did. I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to eat guacamole without it ever again. We had a margarita flight and the skinny chola margarita, all were delicious. The tacos….THE TACOS!! So many amazing choices and we had a hard time deciding but we got 3 tacos each: carne asada, camaron asado (grilled shrimp), barrio pollo (chicken) nopalitos (cactus), cochinitia pibil (pork) suadero azteca (beef short rib birria). Each taco is seasoned, sauced and veggied differently and they’re some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. Our favorites were the cochinitia pibil and the camaron asado. They also make their tortillas on site and I’m hoping we get another chance to go back while in town so I can try even more tacos. I know I’m going to crave these tacos.

3.5 stars. A bit overrated. Some severs were much more attentive than others. The food wasn't as good as expected but the drinks were great. It took at least 30 mins for us to get three tacos.

My husband and I came for tacos. Food was delicious and well priced. Margaritas were amazing. The service was impeccable.

Perfect sidewalk tables in the sun on a cool February day. Friendly. Delicious. Avocado salad was great, but perhaps misnamed because not that much avocado. But delicious, especially with addition of shrimp (large prawns with seasoning) or chicken.
