Under new management both the service and taste of the product has greatly declined. This cake was $91.72. I ordered it for my son and daughter's birthday. The design was really bad and the cake was stale tasting. What a complete disappointment. We won't order from here again. New owner is not very pleasant. I miss the old 21 cakes kindess, people, and recipes.
I ordered a vegan smash cake for my daughters first birthday. She has a dairy allergy so it was important that we get a vegan cake. When I tell you this cake was delicious….it was AMAZING. I would never have known it was vegan. It was also beautiful and exactly like the pictures. They matched the colors perfectly to the topper. I will absolutely be back.
From the reviews, it looks like this is a great place to order specialty cakes, i.e. wedding, baby shower, birthday, etcI just happened upon it and wanted something sweet, there’s a good variety to choose from in the cupcake cases. Most look about the same with different names—I guess the icing is what makes the difference ?I got the Signature Chocolate Vanilla-the cake was moist, however way too little of it compared to the very thick, top heavy icing! The cupcake couldn’t even stand up once I unwrapped it!So for me, it was way too much icing for the cake-would be better if it was a bit more balanced!And it’s spendy for such a small cupcake-nearly $5! And their Mini Cupcakes are nearly $3 for one! The same size you get in packaged mini cupcakes at the grocery store! Oh! Except the heavy topped icing!? ?
We had a terrible experience with this bakery. Attached is a picture of the cake we wanted, and the cake we received. When I sent them the inspiration cake photo, they said they could make something similar, no problem. I checked in with the bakery several times to confirm the cake and the timing, and each time I called (my emails were never returned), it was obvious that I was annoying the woman answering the phone. Never once during the few times that we spoke did she express concern over the design. The cake was so terrible that we had it removed from the room we were eating in because we were embarrassed.
DELICIOUS!!! I am a baker, but not a decorator, so the flavor is always most important to me! This cake was unbelievably moist, not too dense, not too fluffy, just right! We ordered it for our daughters baby shower and I sent them a picture of what I was wanting. What they did was even more perfect! The flecks of gold in the design was just beautiful. I cannot say enough good things about 21 Cakes and they are definitely my go to for future cake purchases.
Ordered a “Luca” themed cake for my sons 1st Birthday. They went above and beyond what I expected. The cake was stunning and so delicious! We almost didn’t want to eat it as it was so cute, but it was gone in seconds as everyone had seconds. Thanks for a wonderful cake!
This review is mainly critiquing design/decoration ability.Ordered a custom cake with pictures of our 2 dogs and this is what I got. I specified I wanted 3D buttercream sculptures of their faces and Kathy said that would be fine. Apparently the cake decorator called in sick and this was the best they could do. I was not notified that the cake decorator was out or given any other last minute options. Surely they could have given it a more basic but pretty decor without trying to emulate the dogs idea. Couple that with the fact that when I inquired via email about a custom cake I was simply told ‘we can’t do custom cakes on Tuesday’s’ and when I called to ask further it seemed that wasn’t accurate.Overall I would give 21 cakes a lower rating but they offered to refund me 100% of the cake. I only accepted compensation for the decorations part of the cake. I’m no cake connoisseur but the cake tastes great, frosting was a tad too sweet for me tho.PS the cake decor was actually so horrifically bad that it’s gotten a lot of laughs from family and friends, so there is that
I wanted to do a cute cake gender reveal for my mother in law that lives in AZ. I live in CA. It’s my first pregnancy and her first grandchild. I had no idea what I wanted in terms of decorations, etc. the 21 Cakes team completely took over and used their expertise to make a beautiful cake. They delivered it directly to my mother in law and we were able to FaceTime and watch her reaction. It was amazing. I’m so thankful for their customer service and expertise. Highly recommend.

Recently visited and purchased cupcakes for my daughters birthday. It seems that the quality of the did not align with the fancy storefront. Wish we read the other reviews before we purchased. Several flavors purchased and we had the following impressions: Chocolate cupcake was moist but vanilla frosting was bland White cupcake was crumbly either over-cooked or old couldn't eat it with my hands so most of it ended up on the floor but chocolate frosting wasn't bad Salty caramel sounded good but it was bland IMO i wonder how many repeat customers they get or is it folks staying local stop in and purchase. I've had better at Publix Supermarket If they weren't so pricey I probably wouldn't bother to write this but I work hard for my money and I felt I made a bad choice.
