We dine at Tara Thai frequently and love it! Our meals today were exceptional! I had Himapan, my husband had Pad Thai, favorites for each of us. We shared the Chocolate Torte with coconut ice cream. It was absolutely delicious! It's a good thing that I don't work there, as I'd be tempted to eat it daily ? Our waiter, Jim, also provided exceptional service! In my opinion Tara Thai is one of our very best restaurants locally!
The worst Thai curry I've had. Atmosphere was elegant, wait staff was polite and attentive. I was very disappointed with my food. Curry was watery with a few vegetables. I asked for my spice level to be a 4. Curry was white and seemed like the kitchen had forgotten to add spices. My drink tasted good but had no alcohol. Overall, seemed like the restaurant was being cheap to make up for financial losses during COVID.
Interior, ambiance, decor was very nice. This is why I gave two stars instead of one.My pet peeve is when a waiter/waitress takes your order without writing it down and then proceeds to make several mistakes regarding that order, which is what happened . The food was average at best, my wife and I ordered the vegetable medley with beef and one with chicken. It lacked any flavor and was bland. It was definitely not worth the 21.00 per plate price. The waitress was pleasant enough, but lacked good waitress skills. Sometimes we would consider giving a place a second chance, but I don't think we will be back.
The food is good but could be great! There has been something missing or incorrect in my takeout order the last 3 times. Only this last time when I raised my voice to the manager did I receive a refund. I arrived when my order should have been ready, paid for it, tipped 25%, sat at the bar and waited another 15 mins. The hostess and manager completely forgot I was there to pick up my to go food even though they are only at half occupancy with way too many employees on the clock looking bored. This manager has spoken ill of other customers in front of me 2 times I can recall specifically - about how the customer was rude. I felt bad for him before and went out of my way to be extra kind. Now, it is quite clear that he lacks competence and has victim mentality. Tara Thai, please hire someone concerned with consistent customer and food service to manage your staff.
Tara Thai was some of the best Thai we've had. My husband had the Pad Thai, and I had a curry. We ended our meal with the chocolate torte. We highly recommend having a meal here. The atmosphere was delightful too.
Lately they have gotten more and more disappointing. I usually get the black pepper tofu and each time the quality has been less and less. They either forget the fresh cilantro, or the tofu isn't fried nicely. Today we were excited to eat here and walked in. We were told they were closing as they only had one cook. They were not at all busy. Had to go eat elsewhere. We probably won't be going back.
The best Asian restaurant I have ever been to. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. But if you are on a budget, the fried rice is a great value. The fried rice was heavenly and shockingly plentiful (effectively getting a large takeout portion for free). Spring rolls were well worth the cost. Can't wait to go back to try their other entrees and appetizers and their own coconut ice cream. Locally owned business.
Little pricey for the amount of food. The Tom Yum soup was okay; took it home, added coconut milk and was perfect. Also ordered crispy chicken which the server recommended and was delish! Bathrooms need a lot of attention, but otherwise clean dining area.Since Covid, we notice customer service at a lot of businesses have gone down hill. But....Tara Thai passed! Very good service.
Interesting little Thai place, I enjoyed the atmosphere but the food lacked flavor and zest. Prices are high for what you receive. Kinda disappointed because with the vibe I thought it would be great. Hopefully the owners and chefs can research some authentic flavor profiles and incorporate them into their menu to really being this place to life. It has all the potential... just needs a leader.
Straight up front here, I do not like the huge Buddha in the dining room so I try to be seated with my back to it so I don't have to look at it. Aside from that, the food here is extremely good. The menu uses names I am not familiar with but the descriptions are clear. The service is good, but some of the servers are forgetful. One person takes your order and another brings it out to you. Just remind them of what you need when they walk by. Prices are a bit on the high side, but when you taste the flavors you will understand why.
