Horribly insensitive hotel reaction to my cancellation 36 hours prior to one night stay. I clearly explained I had a family emergency, and that I was out of state because my sister was in heart failure. They had zero empathy and said hotel policy dictated I would be charged FULL amount. I asked to speak to a manager and they assured me someone would contact me the next day; of course no one did. I called the next day, same response, no call back. Called today, no consideration for extenuating circumstances whatsoever. In fact, I was charged the entire amount of my stay BEFORE I would have even checked in had I been able to keep my reservation. How little heart do you have to charge someone $130 with ample cancellation notice for such a dire family situation as this?? I will never ever stay at this place again, and will encourage everyone I know to stay away as well.
We made reservations at the Peacock Room to celebrate Mother’s Day with our wives. A group of six. We arrived and checked in before the scheduled reservation at 12:45. That is when the entire experience became a major failure. We were seated a few minutes late which was understandable because it was busy. The room where we were seated in was underwhelming at best. The table setting was sloppy. We had to move two broken chairs, 3 menus for 6 people that appeared tossed on the table along with the napkin/utensils. No water. After approximately 20 minutes the hostess came to our table to let us know that she had forgotten to let the server know we were there. Finally someone brought us water. Shortly after that a server arrived with a less than convincing apology for the wait. She asked if we were ready to order our meals. We let her know that we wanted to have 3 separate bills. It was apparent that she was rushed, but acknowledged the separate billing. We placed our orders, she turned to leave when we asked her if we could get iced teas. After another unreasonable delay the iced teas arrived with a small bowl of sloppily sliced lemon. It has now been over an hour since we sat down. We caught the attention of a server to request more water and iced tea. After another wait more tea and water arrived. The tea turned out to be something that tasted like flat cola. It took several minutes to get someone’s attention before we were able to bring the tea issue to their attention. The server apologized and replaced the teas. One of our party went to the reception desk to find out about the delay in our meal. He was told that we we next up from the kitchen. Shortly after our server came by apologizing for the delay and let us know that our meals were being plated and would be out in a few minutes. Shortly after that another server came to our table with a piece of coffee cake on a plate saying that our primary server sent it because of the delay. Interesting because we had just been told it would be only a few minutes before our meals were to be served. We passed the plate around the table to share the piece coffee cake. Another unbelievable amount of time passed and still no meal. Over 2 hours had now passed. We got up a left. No one approached us. We stopped by the hotel front desk to let the clerk know what had happened. He was sympathetic, but didn’t offer to get the restaurant manager. He gave us a business card of the general manager who could put us in touch with the restaurant manager. To say this was a disappointing experience is an understatement. It was simply horrible service and certainly put a damper on celebration of Mother’s Day for our wives.

Went today with friends and great anticipation. The service staff was friendly and attentive but the kitchen is in shambles and there is no real effort on some menu items. One order was a Benedict and one was corned beef hash and poached eggs. The other two orders appeared to be more in the cook’s wheelhouse. The Benedict came with poached eggs whose yolks were hard. The corned beef hash looked and tasted canned and thepoached eggs were like golf balls. Of course the orders were corrected but by that time the other two meals were stone cold. Not returning unless under duress.
Gratefully we had reservations for Easter Sunday. We were seated in a timely manner, service was good, big crowd. Everyone enjoyed their meal.TIP: from the lobby to the Peacock Room: stairs....there is a Gurley street side entrance directly into the restaurant.
Very charming old hotel. Friendly service. Great atmosphere, food, cocktails and live music!
Very beautiful building! The staff are friendly and the prices are cheap!
Do not waste your money or time. First off, we stood at host/hostess station for 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Plenty of staff walked past us but no one would make eye contact. So bizarre. I usually take many photos of my experience, however, in this case the only thing I took a picture of was the bread because nothing else was worthy. The service was absolutely horrible. Soup never came (she forgot), salad never came even after several reminders (she forgot), NY Strip steak order was placed instead of Prime Rib (she forgot), bread finally came to table after 30 minutes (she forgot), no Mojito because the bar did not have mint...I could go on. When steaks finally arrived at table they were both overdone and flavorless. I do not recommend this place at all. There are so many better restaurants in Prescott. We went to Farm Provisions the night before and had stellar service and unbelievably great food!

The Peacock has been a reliable place to take out of town guests, but this time was a little disappointed, but understand this may be due to problems because of Covid. Service was good but the main course was slow to reach us. One of or party had to return his under cooked steak. I still find the dinning room depressing & noisy, dirty colored beige shades & walls, black tablecloths, & not much color. Artwork, very poor, which is a shame as the Prescott area has lots of wonderful artists.
