I LOVE THIS BAR! It's more than a bar though! The food and service are excellent! Although it's new, the owners have already found talented musicians for their fabulous outdoor patio / bar. So happy they've recreated this spot on Whiskey Row!
My husband and I love coming to the Montezuma Tavern. We are locals and make a point to come at least once or twice a week for the food and the fun. Bands are always good but the food never disappoints. It’s always challenging to take over a place that has been run a certain way but I can say that the new owners truly care about every one’s experience. We truly enjoy anytime we decide to come to this tavern and they never disappoint!
This bar is definitely one to visit, or even become a regular to! The new owners are amazing. The bar is much cleaner, better food and an overall better atmosphere. Great selections of premium cocktails and tasty food! You have to try the tacos!
Since new ownership took over, I've seen every detail decline - food quality and service noticeably worse and yet prices have increased. Now just average and overpriced like most other places, heading in the wrong direction. Very disappointing experience, as this used to be my favorite spot in town.
Do not miss this gem!!! What customer service! They care about your experience. Amazing food and fabulously strong drinks!!
Serious health code concerns here. Sticky tables, bar top, and floors, doesnt appear to have been cleaned at all. Owners seem to think owning a restaurant is just sitting and drinking at the bar while ordering around their staff, and chatting it up with their buddies using racial slurs. Won’t ever be back. Don’t waste your time or money
The Sidewinder Fries here are so delicious that I have dreamt about them every night for a month. This obsession has led to many hours of expensive therapy. I'm no longer present at work or with my friends. Sometimes I go to the bathroom just to cry and remember their crunchy perfection. Nick is also an excellent bartender, and I hope if he reads this review he will take pity on me and send some fries in the mail.
Words do not exist to describe the perfection exuding from Montezumas Tavern French fries. Good lord. If you have 20 dollars left in your pocket, head down to the tavern and prepare yourself with an extra pair of socks.
The drinks were wonderful! We will try the wings next time!
Love this place highly recommend stopping in for one of their delicious drinks! Also the patio is awesome to chill on, the bartenders are friendly and very respectful... awesome atmosphere!
