The best pizza in AZ! Tastes just like the pizza in Naples!
We walked by this restaurant the day before, after a wonderful meal at El Gato Azul. Limoncella has a menu posted at street level. Menu looked good and there is a posted "Happy Hour, Monday - Friday from 3-6pm". Thought we would give this restaurant a try and purposely arrived at 5pm to hit the "Happy Hour". I asked our server if there were any restrictions on drink orders for happy hour. She said she had not heard of any. In retrospect I believe this was a miscommunication. I don't think she truly understood what I was asking. We ordered 2 cocktails, assuming they were happy hour prices. We ordered borrata as an appetizer. It was good. Our meals arrived much too fast. We weren't even finished with the appetizer. Meals were ok. I had lasagna and hubby had carbonara. When the bill came,we were charged full price for our cocktails. We asked our server and she said there is no happy hour. I questioned the posted menu outside. She went out to look and sure enough agreed that happy hour is posted on the outside menu. She told the owner and his reaction was that the menu is over 5 years old and there is no happy hour. At this point it really isn't about the $$ but about what is right. How can a restaurant post a 5 year old menu? We were drawn in because of the menu. Will not return. Too many other good restaurant choices in town.
Absolutely some of the best food I've ever had!!
When i went to Limon cello ,I was not sure what to expect but i loved the place, the food, the service, the whole experience.I had the Penne Salmon e vodka which was simply perfect combination of sea food and Italian.I had the dessert Torta Della Nonna which was a pastry with soft crust garnished with pine nuts and a mind blowing taste.I am attaching a picture of what looks like in case you wondering
the food was delicious and steaming hot. l wish they still gave you little glasses of limoncello like when they first opened!
We had dinner as walk-ins and got lucky. What a busy place! (Also noisy.) There is also patio seating. The best bruschetta ever! Very good gnocchi.
This eatery was recommended to us by fellow travelers. The lemoncello shots were creamy. The pasta I ordered was only ok. The salad was big. We probably would have liked the pizza better had we chosen it instead. Our waiter was inattentive, and the meal took longer as a result. We liked the gelato. I would try another restaurant next time.
You know it’s going to be good when you walk in and the chef & owners are speaking Italian. They’re not messing around here. Easily some of the best Neapolitan pizza I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to several parts of Italy). So many flavor combinations including many traditional, and the crust does NOT disappoint. Neapolitan pizza has a tendency to get soggy in the middle with some serious flop on the crust - but not Limoncello’s. I don’t know what kind of sorcery this guy is cooking up, but the crust was magically crispy throughout.Don’t skip this place if you’re in town - it’s a must. Would’ve gone here twice had it not been our first time in town.
I've been tp Italy and yes!!! This is exactly what Italy taste like. Has my favorite beer from Italy. My go to spot !!! Highly recommend. I'm from Phoenix so the 1.5 hour drive is worth it!!!!!
Went to this restaurant tonight with friends. Could not understand the waiter, he talked to fast and had a heavy Italian accent. Early in the evening they were out of meat balls, so I had to change my order. Our friend asked for a small dish of extra sauce, she was charged $3.00 extra and the sauce was terrible. We asked for bread with our pasta dishes, and was charged $4.00 extra for cold plain bread. We were also charged $1.50 for a unknown service charge. First time here, will not come back, food was just so-so.
