Had been here once before about 10-12 years ago and it was very nice. If I remember right, it was the actual owner who came to our table that visit and was very pleasant and wanted to make sure we were having a good experience. Went last night for Mother’s Day. Four of us. We requested a booth. Had to wait over an hour in the teensy loud foyer. When they finally seated us it was at a table, which, ok, they were slammed and that’s where they could finally seat us. The main thing that struck me was how droves of people came thru the door while we’d already been waiting over the course of an hour or more, and walked straight back to the seating area with their wines and hugs all around to the rest of the regulars, while we languored in the super crowded noisy foyer. The way all the regulars apparently knew each other and obviously had special arrangements with the owner to override the newbies (us) so we were last on the totem pole. The service was horrid. Absolutely the worst I’ve had in 30 years. Servers kept changing and our teas and drinks were empty for at least 20-30 minutes before they refilled them, and we had to literally stop a server to request refills and, although not outwardly rude, they neglected us like we were 3rd class citizens. At one point after they finally brought our meals we asked for napkins and refills. Another 20 minutes later and we had to request again bc they’d “forgotten “ about us. Terrible server attitudes. Not one single smile or welcome words. The food was its only saving grace, which was good. But I like my sit-down dining to include good service and they definitely didn’t provide even a lick of that. If you’re not a regular expect to be overrun by the good ol boy club, because you’ll be treated poorly. I won’t be back.
Food was incredible. The servers were friendly. Expect a wait for a table but so worth it!
We love, love, love this place! We showed up at 6 pm on a Saturday so of course we had to wait a bit, but well worth the wait! When we were shown to our booth a salad bowl and bread were waiting for us. Our waitress was obviously busy with customers, but we happily devoured our very good salad and excellent bread while perusing the large menu. A sandwich board showed the night's specials. I had the Chicken Piccata which had a lovely fresh lemon wine sauce, and my husband had Sausage stuffed pasta, yum! Be sure to byob. The Tiramisu is to die for!
BYOB No alcohol served. Customers are encouraged to bring wine beer etc. Good food mid range prices. Small crowded dining area. Attentive service. Small rugged parking lot. Partly old paving with potholes and dirt. Watch your step!
So been there a few times. Sometimes great, other times not. Last month had eggplant parmigiana. It had a weird taste, like old oil or burned. It used to be cooked to perfection and tasted great . Was very disappointed this last time.
Eggplant Parmigiana - every time !! But everything is wonderful! Love bringing my own wine. Service is superior.
I literally don’t know how this place has lasted so long. Maybe Prescott people don’t know real Italian food? The sauce is WATERY! Which you know clearly they wash their pasta. Also a HUGE no no with cooking. The pasta can’t even stick to the sauce, therefore leaving that watery-ness at the end of the plate, with liquidy sauce. Verging on sour after taste.I have tried this place 4x given some glowing reviews. Thought, maybe I went on a bad day. I have really tried to like this place. I just don’t get it. It makes me think no one in this town has working tastebuds.I’m sure the staff is friendly, atmosphere too - but I could not recommend this to anyone wanting Italian cuisine. Giving two stars because 1 felt really mean and I do feel bad. Just had to tell the truth. Sorry :/
Waited 50 minutes for a single takeout entree that was quoted at 20-25. No space to wait inside that isn't within 2 feet of (unmasked) diners. Parking lot too small to fit sit-down patrons, let alone takeout orders. This used to be a cute, romantic spot but it's overcrowded and staff is obviously overwhelmed. Tried to give me someone else's much-larger order as well.
We have loved this place for at least 25 years. Always welcoming and friendly staff with fantabulous Italian food. It's the whole package!
La Bruzza has a salad and dressing that I crave. The salad and the bread alone are worth the wait and to make the trip to Prescott. It's good stuff!! Veal, Chicken Parm, simple spaghetti, all good all the time. Small place so get there right when they open and get ready to maybe wait for 45 minutes.
