Discriminated against and I’m not sure why, perhaps because I’m a family of 6. Here is my story.Called before we showed up to make sure they were open and they notified they were (no notice we would need reservation). Online on their website stated no reservations and there was not a place on their google for reservations. We drove over from Prescott Valley to eat here upon showing up we were told we couldn’t be seated because we needed a reservation, I let them know I called them and they didn’t tell me that I needed one so they took my name and number and told me it would be a 45 minute wait as they pointed to a table and said that one would be available around that time. We were okay with the wait and went and walked around. After an hour and half we returned to see how much of a wait it would be and noticed the table empty. I asked why they didn’t call me and the host says “I’m sorry I lost your paper with your name and number on it”…Honestly they were never going to call, they tried to turn us away I feel the start. We were going to order to go food and head back to Scottsdale because we wanted to really eat here. I asked to speak to a manager and the host said there wasn’t one, I asked for an owner or someone in charge and he didn’t have anyone. I asked if he was in charge and he said he was not. I again asked why did he not call us and all he could say is sorry with his hands up on the air ??♀️What in the world? What kind of service is this and no one in charge? We really wanted to eat here and this treatment needs to be brought to attention.I took pictures of the table empty he stated we were waiting for and of the staff, doing nothing.I’d give 0 stars if I could. Sucks front service ruined it for this restaurant because I feel it would of been amazing and we are a foodie family.
The great varieties of options from the Tapas menu are amazing. I have enjoyed nearly everything I've had here. When vegetarian friends were visiting for a couple of days I' knew they would find many things they liked at El Gato Azul. They were amazed and delighted. One of my favorites is the fried artichoke hearts. YUM.
The perfect place to share many, many plates of reasonably priced, well-portioned, delicious tapas and spicy margaritas with a few friends. Very cute, busy (get reservations!) and friendly. Get the shrimp corndogs!
Amazing food! A must stop for lunch or dinner. Super busy and definitely recommend a reservation. Great to order different dishes for sharing.
We got sat and noticed table next to us getting a appetizer and asked what it was. That we want to start with that. And the people said here take ours your love it. Hadn't ate any of it yet. And gave it a way. Friend artichokes. Who does that. People to friendly. But very appreciative. Food great. I had sherry brea chicken, wow.
Great little spot. Fun live music. We ordered a slew of tapas and a couple of margaritas. I highly recommend. We did call in for reservations day of. It was super crowded so I would recommend doing that as well.
We will be back.the fried green tomatoes and shrimp and spinach with goat cheese yum!!!Lots of different choices that you dont see on a menu often. the waiter was great and had personality plus. I think his name was Charley dont quote me.
My husband and I are actually moving to Preskett so we’ve been trying different restaurants and couldn’t even get into El Gato Azul until Friday night, March 24. We had the most amazing cuisine experience that we made another reservation for Saturday night. I ordered black bean cakes which are seasoned in such a way that my palette was tingling! They are so delicious, so I highly recommend them. The second item I ordered was the jammin chicken, and I loved it as well. The chef seasoned the chicken so well and served it on a plate with honey on the tortilla chips. It was amazing! My favorite entree on Saturday night was the Southwest Stirfry. It was incredibly delicious. I had leftovers and on Sunday I are the rest and it tasted just as delicious as Saturday night. It was an unusual combination of veggies chicken and seasoning so that is my favorite entree until I try another one!
We tried several tapas from the aïoli crabcakes to the Cajun corn dogs. The food was spectacular only topped by the extraordinary Customer Service that John our waiter provided. If you live in Prescott or are just passing through this is absolutely the place to stop. Don’t rush, take the time to try several of the unique and tasty tapas.
Great experience in every way. We sampled across the tapas menu and everything was delicious (imaginative, fun, tasty). The service was wonderful (responsive, smart, funny—thank you Steph). Perfect lunch.
