We had anticipated dining here for quite some time because of the reputation and reviews. We had dinner here on a spectacular Friday evening and dined on the patio. The service was excellent from Abby and my wife's Nashville hot chicken was hot and the plate was hot. I got the pork chops and while the flavor was good they were room temp and the plate was actually cold to the touch. Not to mention the pork chop itself was undercooked and the last 1/4 of the chop was inedible due to it being basically raw. I didn't bring it up to the server because we will be back to give the place another try no matter what. I hope it was just an off night, my wife's food was awesome. The appetizers were excellent and the drinks were great too.
A true gem in Phoenix. We had an amazing time. The Biscuits were great. The grits are delicious. Perfectly soft scrambled eggs and great atmosphere
Very nice atmosphere and location. I ordered the Delta Omelette which was good. I was at first put off by the end of my interaction because I was charged for the side of potatoes that I didn’t eat because I didn’t like them and a biscuit that I never got because they were out. After speaking with Robert on the phone he made me feel much better about my experience and was more than willing to rectify it. For this reason I would be willing to go back there again.
Everything about this restaurant was exactly what my wife and I were looking for when we traveled to Phoenix. We live out of state, but come back every now-and-then to visit family and when we do we like to find places that will provide, first and foremost, excellent and thoughtful food and, secondly but almost equally as important, a great environment. the larder and the delta hit on both of these spectacularly. Everything we had was delicious and I believe they really hit on their focus of bringing authentic southern food to Arizona. On top of that, everyone we interacted with (especially our server who helped truly make it a special evening for us) was considerate and professional. If you're going to find yourself in Phoenix for any period of time, I highly recommend you take an evening to dine at this wonderful establishment!
We enjoyed our dinner on the patio here! The service is very friendly. The menu is small but everything we tried was really good! Definitely have to try the cauliflower, it was yummy!
The Larder is a small restaurant in the environs of greater Phoenix, and if you are a tourist to the area like we were, it might be a little struggle to get there. Do not give up. It will be worth the effort. As I said, it's a smaller place, so you might want to make reservations. When you het there, it looks as though there is no parking, but don't be fooled, for just PAST the restaurant on the right is plenty of parking. The clientele on the night we were there all looked too cool for school but even though my wife and I were the oldest patrons, the food was good, the drinks stiff, and the service was aces. Try the pork chop with its attendant sides and you will not be disappointed. What amazed us was the pervasiveness of construction and remodeling going on downtown. It seemed on every block there was mixed use buildings being built or worked on. Try to go on a weekend, because workday traffic might be hazardous.
Great food and great flavors…first time and will be back
Sadly removed from my stared places. Probably had to high of hopes. Smoked pork belly dirty rice: lacking pork belly and flavor. Teens found chocolate French toast inedible (4 blueberries, none of the promised blackberries…sigh). High point was the hot chicken biscuit sandwich.
One word: go. Soon. Amazing. Fantastic. OK that's more than one word, but seriously it takes more than one word to describe the amount of love and passion put in this food!
When things go better than expected, 5 stars is expected. Case in point.. the Cauliflower which I ordered looking for a Keto friendly meal, and this venue delivered the promise well, and relatively quickly.
