We were greeted by staff as soon as we walked in. Our waiter Shinji was great. He explained the menu for us newbies. He was friendly and super helpful. My husband ordered the beef fried rice and my son and I split shabu shabu (miso soup with the beef belly). We also had pork gyoza and a crunchy California roll. The bill with beverages (soda and ice teas) was $63. The food was great, the ambiance was nice, and the service was above par. I highly recommend, especially if you are new to Japanese food. I wish I had thought to take photos.

Well, that was a disappointment. I got the 2-item combo dinner. The chicken katzu was tasteless, dry and overcooked. If I had to guess, it looked like it was a frozen, pre-breaded piece of chicken because it was so dry and had that institutional look with absolutely no flavor. It was served on a sad piece of elderly lettuce and came with a ball of rice. The California roll was fine, but was just 5 pieces. And I don’t understand why they can’t include the salad when you get takeout as there are 3 sections to the container. The people were pleasant, but that can’t make up for the quality of the food. Had the meal been well prepared, it would have been a decent $10 meal but at $14 it was definitely overpriced. If you used to go to the original Sushi Ken before they sold it, don’t bother. It’s a shame because we could use a decent family-style Japanese restaurant here again.

For the price of the Chicken Lunch Bowl, it is not worth paying for. Literally a 1/4 of a chicken breast and rice with a few various veggies. Started for a easy basic roll for the sushi to start and was not really impressed. Will I be back, definitely not. My personal taste was not impressed and let down on the the amount you get for the lunch bowl given the price too. Best of luck to whom else visits. Can’t seem to add a photo to the review but I’ll post a picture under photos, bowl was $10.95 for a small square container

LOVE this place! Our favorite quiet date night go to! Amazing shabu and rolls! ❤️❤️

Absolutely delicious and fresh food. Wonderful customer service. The Shabu meal was fun and terrific. I chose the seafood and was not disappointed. Our new favorite Japanese restaurant

If you loved Sushi Ken you'll dislike the new place.Went with my boyfriend during soft opening. Chirashi was extremely expensive (over 20 dollars) for what looked like only 2 ounces of OK quality fish. If I wanted to pay that much for a selection of raw fish, I would go to Hana or Shimogamo, as the quality is MUCH better. I could go to HMart or Asiana for the price and get 3x to 4x the amount of fish and probably better quality. The rice was dry as well, flavor reminded me of Minute Rice. Rolls were very over priced and so-so quality. We had to ask for soy dishes, side plates, and chopsticks. The shoyu bottle we were given leaked, when we asked for napkins we were given two--one for each of us--and had to use personal napkins to clean up a spill that TWO servers noted but did nothing about. Almost $50 for two people for all of 2 rolls and Chirashi. At the time of service there was no option option for donburi which is disappointing as Sushi Ken had fabulous gyudon. While the servers seemed scatter brained they were at least attentive, so the stars are for the service. Not their fault the new owner(s) are cutting quality and raising prices, I can only hope their compensation is adjusted accordingly. We won't be returning unless there's another change of ownership.

Great tasting dinner! Recommend getting the Shabu Shabu and sharing, but get an extra order of protein for each additional person. Also recommend the crispy California roll.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and the servers are attentive. But that's about all the positives I have to report from my experience here. My family and I went during lunch hours on a Friday - and were the only diners in the restaurant. We tried a bevy of different plates, including appetizers, sushi rolls, nigiri, and chicken teriyaki, none of which was good. The fish was either on the older side, with a strong fishy flavor, or extraordinarily tough - I don't think I've ever had ahi tuna that required as much chewing. There are multiple better options nearby, and I'm afraid I cannot recommend this newly reopened sushi joint.

We dined in and were immediately greeted by all the staff, even those standing in the back of the restaurant! We were made to feel so welcome! We ordered salmon nigiri and the server suggested we try tuna toro which we really enjoyed also! We also ended up ordering a Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll - both delicious. Our server was very attentive and overall it was a great experience! They are in a "soft open" state and will be adding a lot more options to their menu soon! Would highly recommend and plan on returning soon!

they have a huge sushi menu, their happy hour prices are phenomenal. ramen & gyozo were awesome, great food & service! You will def make a return trip once you come hereupdate-no longer sushi kens. i tried their lunch special-Shabu, they bring out a burner w/a bowl of miso broth & a cart with all the fresh ingredients and your choice of raw meat. You cook it yourself, bring broth to a boil, cook hard veggies first for a few minutes, then add soft veggies & then add the meat & finally add the noodles. Ladle cooked ingredients & hot broth over rice. Was pretty good, im always down to try a new food experience at least once.
