Oh. My. Goodness. I think I have a new favorite ? place to eat. I have always been curious about Puerto Rican food. I have tried it once in Colorado and it wasn't enough where it captured my taste buds. I think knowing what to order helps with the introduction. This place used to be Crazy Jim's and now it's Phoenix Coqui (pronounced co-key). They close at 645 pm and we arrived at 635 pm. They welcomed us and we ordered our food. They didn't mind us eating in while they were closing up.Phoenix Coqui had a food truck for 5 years and now they have a permanent location. I am so thrilled for them. They mentioned that people come from Tucson and Yuma just to eat Pasteleon. I have never heard of them before and I am so happy to meet them at this location. We had friendly service and the food was flavorful, delicious and it smelled amazing. The place is tiny, cozy and inviting. The decor is cute ?. We definitely will be returning in the near future. We ordered pasteleon (lasagna dish that is made with plantain, beef and cheese) and Pollo a la criolla (stewed chicken in tomatoe broth) with salad, rice and beans. Happy eating ?.
There is nothing like seeing small business owners dream come true. It really shows you what happens when passion meets dedication and hard work. To see my favorite food truck open up a brick and mortar location is amazing. The service and quality do not suffer and the prices are the same.I can't wait to see what they do next...
First time Dining in, food was fabulous, delicious and the service was wonderful will definitely return.
Amazing service, staff, and even better tasting food. Great portions.
Food was delicious. Friendly service. Loved everything we orders and will go back. We did not mind the disposable plates and utensils BUT would recomend to get good quality disposable plates and utensils for dine in.
I love the food. Moved here from NYC, and my background being Puerto Rican, this is by far some of the best food I have had. Definitely takes likes food from back home.\\n\\nPlus the owners are absolutely fantastic. You will be seeing more of me.
Nice friendly service with delicious food. I wish i didn't devour the other items I had before taking a picture. Papas locas and the Mofongo are really good.
Love Love Love the food, their Pastelon is my favorite ... bringing the island food to Phoenix. I just wish I lived closer to them, they are worth the drive.
Unexpected stop equaled to An amazing experience with \\\"Great \\u0026 Fresh Quality Food\\\". And the owner and staff are very friendly they make you feel at home great atmosphere.
Phoenix Coqui has good food, nice people and understands what customer service is. They made a mistake on an order causing me to come back the next day. However, they went above and beyond, to make up for the mistake and I could not have been happier. Definitely worth a visit!
