Persepshen has one of the most well thought out menus featuring local ingredients and scratch made EVERYTHING! The environment is perfect for a Friday night out with friends but also perfect for a date. All the portions are served with sharing in mind so you can try multiple different menu items. I was very impressed with how fresh every item was but also with the unique flavor pairings and plating. We got a few items to share while my husband and I were on a double date. All of which were delicious. The escargot is a MUST and the charcuterie board features scratch made liver pate, meats cured by the chef and an assortment of fresh picketed veggies.Sometimes places that boast “local and fresh” are anything but. Persepshen outdid themselves on both claims. A unique spot serving truly local ingredients and a chef that cares about the food he serves. The staff is friendly, the owner Jason makes sure to stop by your table and from start to finish you feel very welcomed.Do yourself a favor and get a reservation!! And don’t forget dessert! It’s out of this world. My husband and I are still talking about the skillet cookie and lemon pie!
Amazing: Shawarma, Crispy fingerling potatoes, Cast iron cookie, the service, the vibe! Easily a top 3 favorite in Arizona.
Start to finish. Exceptional flavors and presentation. One of the best restaurants in AZ. Customer service is great too. Service at times is slow but that is due to times of day and the quality of food being prepared. This is a really great dining experience.
This is one of the best "casual fine dining" restaurants I've ever been to. The food is just incredible, great quality and flavor, cooked perfectly, and some very unique items. The food really does stand out as being on a level above other places that we love. The crispy polenta street fries are incredible! We got the Chinese sausage steam buns this time and those were wonderful. We've gotten the chicken dip in the past and that's also amazing. The only thing we've gotten that we weren't impressed with was the duck a l'orange, which we just didn't think the duck itself was very tender. Maybe it was just that particular one we had. But the fingerling potatoes that came with it were the best I've ever had, it looked like they were smashed and then fried so they were really crispy on the outside but soft in the center. And the orange sauce went great with them. It's really fun sitting at the bar because it's right in front of the open kitchen, but be warned it does get a little warm if you're the seat closest to the kitchen (worth it in my opinion). Waitress is always great (I forget her name but we've seen her a couple times). We'll keep coming back and can't wait to try more things on the menu!
Absolutely amazing food. Food has not tasted normal/good since I lost my taste in Dec from Covid. This is the first food I've had that I could taste and enjoyed! Imaginative and oh so fresh!
Fantastic locally run restaurant. Have been here several times, happy to support a local business. Great food and atmosphere. Not sure what other reviewers experienced, but no service issues here! Very warm and friendly!
The food here is to die for, and the menu changes seasonally so it's always an adventure! Jason is awesome, and he makes you feel like the center of attention. He makes sure you know that your patronage is greatly appreciated. I have seen the chicken spinach dip on the menu several times. If you're there and it's on the menu, it's a must try!
Elevated cuisine in an unpretentious setting. Awesome concept: local and organically sourced ingredients, featuring an electric menu of dishes from around the world- something for everyone! Reimagined classic cocktails with homemade natural syrups and garnishes. Hearty drink menu with wine, cerveza, sake, cider, champagne, and well drinks with homemade soda and tonic. Highly recommend the Cochinita Pibil for your entree. Be sure to make reservations because they are only open 4hrs Thursday-Sunday.
We loved it here. The owner was our waiter. Every thing here is locally sourced and prepared. The dishes are interesting and flavorful. Same can be said for the cocktails. The interior is thoughtfully decorated and perfectly clean. We loved the pork, salumi board, crispy chicken and a variety of veggie dishes. It was all done with flare and the result was a delicious meal. Come join the hippies at Persepshen. You won't be disappointed.
Went out to Persepshen with my mother and mother-in-law for a nice dinner while visiting PHX. We booked a reservation the day of, and upon arrival, got placed at the bar in the back room of the restaurant, behind the loud espresso machine and bartender even though there were sufficient tables throughout the restaurant to seat us at. We had many awkward unpleasant interactions with our "server" who was the bartender, chef, and server all in one? If I'm paying over $200 for a reserved dinner for 3, I'd expect my server to have one job, and that is to be a server, not be dressed in a dirty apron bouncing back and forth from the kitchen. We were ignored for most of the evening, and when we weren't being ignored, our server was making dry almost rude jokes when asked simple questions and it made my entire party uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, the food here was absolutely amazing, and I really am behind their mission, but because of our experience with our server, I would not return here.
