Not sure why it took this New Yorker so many years to make it to this Phoenix landmark restaurant. Finally managed to get to their Thomas Rd. location for lunch. This place has charm and character in spades. As all the posted photos show, visitors to this little shop are greeted by a splash of collectibles, trinkets, and various works of art. Add in some old-school pinball machines and video games just for the fun of it. There are menus and random menu options on hand-written notes and signs hanging on the walls all over the place - along with all the house rules and thoughtful quips. It is mesmerizing. We were after wings and pizza, so we got right to it. An order of medium and suicide along with a sausage pizza. We found one of the few inside tables available and in a matter of 10 minutes, the food arrived. Their wings are definitely true to a NY traditional preparation. Smaller wing parts, cooked to a pretty hefty crisp. A bit too crispy for our liking, but still great. Their Buffalo sauce was awesome and the "suicide" sauce was spicy but not ridiculous hot. The pizza was made on what appeared to be a prefab flat dough with little texture or taste. It reminded me of a frozen pizza or, as my guest remarked "a Peter Piper pizza". They do have a lot of other options that we wished we had tried instead. This place is a fun spot that's been a long-running locally owned, Buffalo influenced, joint for quick and very affordable eats. Prices are great and the staff was delightful. Maybe not the "best" wings in town, and pizza not their specialty, but it is most definitely worth a visit.
Best place on earth. Ive been coming here for 21 years and I love everything about it. The pizza, wings and the Sauteed onion burger is heaven on earth.
This is a real fun place. Very interesting decor and kind of a different place, inside & out.Food is tasty & ample portion size, servers have that smiling happy face.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys an informal dinner.
I order from here alot but tonight I was very disappointed ?. I didn't want to do it but tonight I had to bring wings back to them because they were submerged in ranch ?. I should have taking a picture but I was so upset I just took them back. so I called and they said come show us the wings, I did that, only to get these wings that are so tiny! Yes I ate a couple but it is not the same as before and it is not worth the money. also the lady I talked to one the phone was very rude but when I went to the location the cashier was very polite but another lady working with her was very rude as if I was lying. my card is on file and they can see how much I order from there but certain employees are rude as if they don't make mistakes. I dont think ill be eating here anymore.
the wings are very delicious and tasty, the atmosphere very friendly and the place very cool the restaurant is filled with so much stuff to see a lot of toy collectible memorabilia.??
Despite getting the wings to go (not crispy fresh) and not getting a side of garlic parm like I asked, I would still go here again. The wings are not jumbo (which is a good thing, smaller = higher skin to meat ratio). The employees were super nice, they had a great atmosphere with vendors out in their parking lot selling wares and slushies. The wing sauces had a lot of flavor and were not just Frank's with butter added. I had Suicide and hot. Suicide was like a kicked up hot with black pepper added. Had some heat but not too spicy, good flavor. The hot was about what you would expect. Pepper, vinegar, salt and full of flavor. Would recommend.
Amazing experience, food, and site. The way the place is decorated and set up will amaze you. And the dry rubs are incredible.
I unfortunately did not get to go inside or order food, because it was closed by the time I got to this side of town, but I will be coming back and I will most definitely let you all know how great I think it's going to be
they will give you the wrong order then blame you for it, after so many times its really not worth going I highly recommend red devil not too far from there instead
Definitely a place to visit if you’re in town. The wings were bomb and the burger was flavorful. The fries were also nice and salty. Definitely a place I’d go to again!
