Overpriced food quality not that good The owner was there visible in this restaurant but never approached our table to make conversation... They have a Signature drink on the menu but DIDN'T have the ingredients to make it!?
So. 1st off, this joint is closed permanently.
this was a really good homestyle southern cooking, fried chicken, fried catfish, cornbread and iced tea
The food here was so good! I ordered the swai lunch special with greens and cornbread. It was delicious. I did have to add a little salt to the greens, but that's a personal preference. The cornbread had great flavor, but it was a little dry and gritty. I like my cornbread with am almost cake-like texture. But again, that's a personal preference. The flavor was definitely great. I am going back to taste more. The service was also great. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and they were warm and welcoming. I didn't have to wait long and the food was "fresh-out-the-grease-hot!" Definitely a place I'll be going back to.
Good food, great service.!
Great food coupled with a great atmosphere! The catfish and yams are my favorite but the menu is full of great options. Stop by and tell Tony I said hello.
I was recently in Phoenix on business and stumbled upon Karsons Kornbread. This is a new restaurant. It's going through growing pains, which I think is to blame for some of the lesser reviews on here. Their menu could best be described as southern comfort food, although, they do have some vegetarian offerings. Their main dishes are fish and chicken. They hand-bread the fish and chicken so that it's always fresh. They also offer a chicken and waffle entree, with the waffles made to order.
Great food great experience Antoine went out of his way to insure everything was right. With all due respect to my Mom and Grandma, great cooks each, it was the best peach cobbler I have ever had. We are here visiting but next time I am in Phoenix this will be a stop.
Waited about 40 min to be acknowledged in a group. Another 25 min for a menu, then another 20 for water. Maybe a new business, maybe under staffed. But a fully booked hotel for a local event could mean good business if you had your business together. Of the other 12 people we had patronizing the restaurant roughly half did not recommend the food or service. We ate elsewhere and would not make a trip to specifically come to Karsons as a phoenix local.
Can't speak about the food but their hours are not as advertised! They closed early because it was slow but it was touted as a great place to go after the club let's out instead of Denny's. It sounds like a good idea to catch those customers but I guess they would rather give those sales to Denny's etc. Guess I have to go in the middle of the day when the odds are in my favor that they will be open as advertised!
