The atmosphere is really cool, its located in an industrial building. The cocktails were delicious and Nicole was an amazing bartender. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. The sushi was very yummy as well, definitely a great find!
There are so many employees that’s abuse drugs here, I can bet you many of them are high working right now !
Extremely disappointed. I was excited to try Kaizen based on the overall reviews. However, my experience was not great. I will note that I made a reservation at 6 pm (busier time). I requested an indoor seat, but got asked if I'd take an outdoor seat instead, I agreed. Mistake on my part.ServiceAfter receiving our waters and placing our order, it took a very long time for someone to check in with us. It got hot and we wanted to move seats. We got our first roll at 6:40 with no sauce or wasabi to eat it with. When we finally got to ask Kyle to move, the rest of our time he walked past us without saying a word (nice guy otherwise). If we were getting a new server, I think that should have been communicated. Finally, all of our rolls came out but we never got the gyoza we ordered. When I inquired, I could tell it was probably forgotten, so I cancelled it.FoodThe presentation of the dishes were decent and the sushi was just okay. The rice was a little hard and I definitely had better quality elsewhere. My visit wasn't worth the hype, but maybe yours will be. I would recommend Harumi which is also downtown and has amazing service on top of high quality food.AmbienceThe best part about my Kaizen experience was the location. It's tucked away in a building that has an awesome vibe. Great place for a first date, catch up with some friends, or hangout for drinks before heading out.Rolls Pictured: Rainbow, Yellowtail, Northern Lights
Beautiful restaurant, great staff, delish food
Excellent food, great service, loved it!
Delicious food and drinks. Very accommodating to my gluten free needs. Party of 8 that increased to 11. Even with other reservations, management made accommodations for us as the group expanded.
Amazing service! The staff were all very attentive and open to listening and answering questions about their menu. The food tasted amazing. Their happy hour is such a steal!
Our waiter Kyle was hands down the best server I have ever encountered. The food was delicious. Drinks were great. My only issue was my $26 entree had one Octopus tenticle. Like I said it was delicious but would have liked at least two. All in all we will be back!!!
I’ve been eating sushi for 15+ years. I’ve eaten at some of the most expensive places in LA to small businesses in smaller towns, and Kaizen is the best sushi I’ve ever had. It’s inventive, fresh, flavorful, and fun with the fusion between Latin and Japanese traditions. The atmosphere is sleek, industrial, and chic and the service is friendly and professional. Oftentimes drinks at sushi places are an afterthought, but here they are thoughtful and great as a stand-alone. We tried this place for the first time on our anniversary and will be coming back + recommending it to all our friends. Don’t pass this up!
RUN!! Do not walk to this exquisite sushi and bar!! I popped in for happy hour for a table of one and was graciously met by the lovely hostess Rachel and seated at the bar wherr Natalia and Jason took excellent care of me. Above par cocktails, freakishly creative menu items, warm service and most of all friendly conversation, Kaizen is an illustrious addition to the downtown/ central Phoenix culinary scene. Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed❤️
