Great ambiance and setting. Solid spinach dip and the ribs were good except I didn’t love the mustard sauce. I like the bbq sauce and ribs better at Houston’s.
HIllstone is one of the few remaining restaurants maintaining an understated elegance that was once the standard for fine dining. The menu is old school, but excellently prepared to high standards. The service is efficient and discreet.
We were seated promptly when we arrived at our reservation time. Host/Hostess were gracious and polite. Server was polite, cheerful, and knowledgeable.Food was very good but fairly high priced. Dinner for two with no alcohol was $100 before the tip.
The best part of this restaurant is the physical restaurant. It is absolutely beautiful. It has both indoor and outdoor dining. It appears as though there are no exterior walls, yet it is very intimate. Hillstone is part of a large group of restaurants. You would never know it is a chain. They absolutely do an amazing job. The food is beautiful as well. Fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The service is impeccable. They must train their staff for weeks. In my opinion, it is the perfect restaurant. 6 Stars
Not gonna lie I was a little sad when my hubby didn’t book a romantic French restaurant for Valentines Day, that I really wanted to try. But turns out this place was open last minute and got us in and it was EXCELLENT!!! The food was amazing, it was romantically lit, the Tuna Tar Tar was unreal!!!! And the service was top notch. Now it’s a place we frequent! We always sit at the bar and Al takes good care of us! Their Bees Knees is amazing, you should try it! It’s definitely a place that we eat ate at least once or twice a month. Super great find!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!
Reservation process was simple. Table prep was quick, wait time was minimum. We went on a Thursday evening. Attentive staff, spot on observation, drinks refreshed, empty dishes removed quickly. Amazing flavor, excellent food options. Modifications on the fly without resistance. There was one major problem with our experience that could be easily corrected. Leaving the restaurant to walk to the parking lot did not have any exterior lighting. This is a hazard and they need to install led low brightness colored ground lights to indicate safe or unsafe areas to walk. We did not trip but the potential was present.
Desire a steak that makes you wanna hug the chef, drinks that tinkle your spirit, and ribs so tender and delicious you want to review them immediately after you eat? Hillstone is the place to be. The service is exceptional, the grilled artichokes are so mouthwatering that my mouth is watering while writing this review. I do not believe you can go wrong with anything on the menu and once combined with the ambiance, this will be your new post-shopping, pre-shopping, just want a nice drink, established to visit.

Great dining. Each meal was prepared to perfection, from appetizer to entree. Only on criticism, the restaurant temperature was very cold. Give it a try but bring a sweater. Visit scottsdale-road.com for more exciting restaurant tips!
Never have a been to a restaurant that makes it so hard to want to come back. We were regulars for 15years, but they have changed there model and audience, they hate families, takeout and dietary restriction. They are rude and terribly unaccommodating. They have lost our business for good, there are far too many amazing restaurants that deserve all of our support. If I could give zero stars I would.
