I Moved from San Jose, Ca.2 yrs ago and haven’t found a Chinese restaurant in Phoenix that served food which rank among the those best spots in San Francisco Bay Area, until NOW. Ambiance in the inside was a big surprise. Cocktails, wine collection display and clean restrooms. Servers were quite intuitive. And for lunch today, it was the hot & sour that tickled my appetite. The rest of the lunch menu is to be explored. I’m glad we accidentally ran to this hidden cuisine. It was a delight. I can’t wait for the next visit—this time will be for dinner cocktail and the works. By the way prices were competitive. They may prosper if the keep their business model based on volume rather that prices to greed in this time of high inflation. Good luck George Yang. You won our 5 star rating.
This is a great place to go for friendly service and decent food. It is not what I would call authentic Chinese but it is good American Chinese food. Becky is an amazing server and if you get a chance I would ask for her. So funny and friendly and she will tell you what is best to order. I've mostly eaten the noodle type dishes but have tasted the orange and their version of General Tso. Both good.
Phoenix deludes itself into thinking it's a food mecca but in reality, the few good local chefs are outnumbered by a wide and bland selection of offerings. Chinese food is especially hard to find in a world of Mexican cuisine. But George Yang's in a settled neighborhood of North Central Phoenix is the oasis in the desert. The interior is lovely. Not overdone and not plastic. The music is sublime...there but not demanding attention. The service is the same, there but not intrusive. And the food is delicious! I had that old chestnut Moo Goo Gai Pan....I love mushrooms and chicken. These were fresh mushrooms and there were a lot of them. The chicken was tender and the snow peas just the right amount of snap. I met someone for lunch and it was very easy to talk instead of that 'gotta yell to be heard' that many restaurants have. All in all, you must go here and enjoy real, not plastic, food. I will be back.
Visiting from Vancouver, and craving for Chinese. Read reviews and decided to try George Yang! Love the restaurant, super friendly staff, Joseph was so funny! We had seafood pancake, fried taro ( want to go home and re-create this), they recommended this beef, super tender beef in a sweet savory sauce with a little kick! Amazing! Heard from the waiters there are 2 more, will try them again for sure! Perfect ending to a work day.
To be honest we usually just get Panda Express when it comes to Chinese food. Never really found a great Chinese food restaurant that both of us can agree on. We tried George yang's Chinese cuisine. Location is very intimate,dimmed lights and cozy spaces. Staff is constantly making rounds and checking on the tables. I tried the pork fried rice and loved it!! Probably tied for the best pork fried rice in my opinion. It's a simple plate but hard for me to find a really good one. My wife had the orange chicken lunch combo plate. Great flavor and a really good assortment for the lunch combo. It comes with an egg drop soup,lo mein, spring roll and white rice. It's our new favorite Chinese restaurant.
Out-of-town guests came in and we had lunch. The lunch specials were excellent, plenty of food for lunch or dinner. I especially like the hot & sour soup, one of the better versions I have eaten. Also, the iced green tea with blueberries is really different and refreshing. We had a variety of items and all were very good. Excellent food reasonably priced. They are now available for dining in.
The is mu favorite Asian Restaurant in Phoenix AZ. The sizzling filet been in black pepper sauce is the best entree in my opinion. I love the friend rice and eggs drop soup. The refreshing iced tea is pleasure. Service is fast and courteous. The atmosphere is great. I have tried the cracklin calamari appetizer and it was delicious. I will be back to try all the other specials.
Where do I begin! Food was absolutely delicious, service amazing,being greeted and welcomed,not having to listen to the horrible sound of hip-hop music where most establishments insist on playing! All around wonderful experience! we'll definitely be back!! Felt very classy!?
Very good staff and the food was beyond our expectations, I had the Dragon & Phoenix and wife had the Sweet and Sour chicken lunch specials. The ambient setting was a relaxing environment. We have happened to decide on having Chinese cuisine while in the area and google searched for a highly rated place, so we took a chance and were very pleased. We will be coming back.
This was so delicious ! Not only do you receive high quality authentic Chinese cuisine but it’s set in an elevated environment with exceptional customer service ! Very professional staff and talented chefs in the back!! Very impressed !
