The best thing about this spot is the view for sure. The rooftop is big, decorated nicely, has lots of seating, and the music is great. My husband and I visited on Memorial Day, so the menu was extremely limited, but when I looked at the actual menu, it was very limited as well. We got the spinach artichoke dip and was disappointed. The chips were stale, and the dip was just less than amazing. The drinks were pretty good though. Our favorite was the "trip to Malibu." I also tried the "rooftop Collins" which was good too.The service was good, but nothing to brag about. Our waitress never told us her name, but she was nice enough. The most I would do is come here for drinks, catch the view, then go somewhere else for food.We went to Floor 13 rooftop (a few minutes away, on top of the Hilton Gardenn Inn)afterward and it was wayyyy better. Floor 13 rooftop deserves this view. The service, food, drinks and atmosphere was better at Floor 13.I would still recommend From the Rooftop for the view and feel of the open space, but it's not the best rooftop by far. I hope they step it up because they could have a great thing going. You can't live off of past reputation forever.
Great Vibe, scenery & music. The bartender was helpful but servers seemed all over the place. We tried new drinks, it was good and the spinach artichoke dip was ok.
Visiting my Daughter, we chose fromtherooftop for our Sunset location. There were 8 adults in our party We had cocktails & appetizers, all were delicious. Pictures speak for themselves
Hi I came in a couple Saturdays ago for brunch and just needed to take a second to shout out the two girls who were running around busting their butts while the two guys just stood behind the bar! I had checked out the reviews prior to coming in and felt the most people only leave one with negative experiences and that was not our experience even though It was super obvious they were understaffed and the staff that was their seemed to stand around watching as the two ladies took care of everything! Our server was Chelsey and she was assisted by the feisty little one with pink hair( sorry friend I can’t remember the same) it was rather apparent that the two girls were slammed and overwhelmed but were both super friendly and bubbly still! The drinks I felt should have been a little faster since the guys seemed to find time to stand Around laughing and I did catch an attitude from the bartender when i expressed my drink was way to incredibly spicy that I couldn’t drink it I was told that’s what I get when I order Jalapeño infused tequila. Which I understand but there is a point where something doesn’t taste good when it’s that spicy. So I was a little nervous to then express that I didn’t enjoy it to Chelsey but she just swooped up the drink added something sweet to it and told me if I still didn’t enjoy it I could choose something else! Which I did enjoy it after simmering it down a bit. I’ve been here a few times and it’s more if a sit down , sip, chill, and take in the view sort of place not a quick grab and go since everything does take a bit longer. Hopefully it will be staffed more appropriately next time so that 20% of the staff does 80% of the work. Also the manager was amazing she took off my drink and my pink haired friend gave me a buy one get one for next time! Lady’s of the rooftop thanks for the great experience! Men of the rooftop step it up! ??
Beautiful view!Great place to just sip on mimosas and enjoy the view. The chicken and waffles is great! Though you may want to ask for a side of syrup. The waffle sucks up a lot of the syrup.
Classic case of great idea/great location… terrible execution. The wait for drinks was intolerably long. Somehow our food arrived before our first round of drinks. This was a Sunday night… busy but far from packed. And as the crowd quickly thinned after sunset, the service didn’t improve with less people to be served. (If the bar staff and wait staff hustled just a little, or had a better method to their madness (hey! to management) they could make a mint. Instead our table and the tables around us were filled with empty glasses more than full ones. Smaller tabs = smaller tips. Always shocks me how this is concept is oftentimes lost on bar staff/mgmt. But I digress…)Lastly, the Trio of Chips and Dips is the worst joke a restaurant has ever played on a consumer… for $13 you get three bags of Zapp’s chips - like the actual bags of chips - just get chucked on your table along with three thimble-sized plastic containers of dip. The “dips” are Safeway-quality Pico, onion dip, and some grainy queso. Please, FTR, just take this off the menu. “This trio chip dip appetizer was great” said no one ever. The sunset view, which is fantastic, gets the credit for the two stars
Beautifully staged and amazing views that's about it for this place. You won't have access in the morning to capture the sunset and closes at 10pm except for weekends but don't rely on the schedule two out of 4 days I stayed at the hotel it was closed without notice "during business hrs" and asking for service is as asking a guest to get make you a drink, with such a small menu one would think food was good at least. Do yourself a favor go downstairs for food, drinks and happier service staff, and better vibes too... Oh and yes there's no pool at this place either, it's a little misleading but no pool, just decor.
My husband and I stopped by on 02/19/2022 to have some drinks and try the food at From The Rooftop. Unfortunately, we did not stick around to try the food because the bartender wearing his black sunglasses, who would not crack a smile or acted like he was too inconvenienced to acknowledge you as a customer was very rude. My husband stood in line for 30 mins before he got a drink. He and 2 people in front of him stood waiting as the bartender decided he would serve the party of about 10 people first, who had just walked in and decided to bypass the line that had already formed. Keep in mind it was only 1 PM and the place was not busy prior to the party of 10 arriving. We really wanted to come back and stay at the Cambria, but I don't see that happening now. We love to visit locally and give recommendations to family and friends be it word of mouth or social media, however the service we received has really made it difficult for us to give any positive feedback which is very unfortunate.
Best rooftop bar in downtown Phoenix! The ambiance was beautiful, they had a nice water feature, lots of seating and lights all around at night to set the mood. Food was delicious and drinks were good! We ordered the chicken tacos and spinach dip and both were really good ! We went on a Saturday night when they were having an event so wasn’t fond of the house music but still had a great time. The seating is spaced out well and it wasn’t too crowded so we could social distance which was nice! My only recommendation is to hire more waitresses because there was only one working so she was very busy and service was slow but she was really sweet and tried her best. We weren’t in any rush so didn’t bother us but hope they get more staff soon. Overall had an awesome night - it’s such a cute boutique hotel super modern and beautiful so we’ll definitely be back! Thanks for a great night FTR!
Nice place, views are great, only one barista on duty for a Sunday night tho and 10+ people waiting in a line, poor guy trying to keep up. My first drink was good too. I got a cosmopolitana and my partner got a Pina colada.
