I was very disappointed with the entire meal from the tortilla not being warm to the rice being a little hard. The portions were not worth the money spent. I asked for the toppings to my daughter's carne asada fries to be on the side and they were entirely missing when my order was called. The staff was nice and we were greeted entering the door but I won't give this place another chance.
I've gone to this restaurant twice... I LOVE Mexican food and their name seems dope, so I wanted to give them a try. Well each time I've gone it's been during their posted business hours and they've been CLOSED! And it's not like ooops there's a sewer leak... or I'm the lame who get there 5 minutes before closing. But like it's 7:04pm and ya'll close at 8:00pm... It's legit, uber annoying. Both times I've gone out of my way to go there.I officially give up. Reader, do yourselves a favor and save your $5.37/gallon gas money and just go to El Pollo Loco or Chipotle.
The lady at the register made my day she was so funny and upbeat & helpful she was tall with red hair it would’ve been a pleasant visit if there wasn’t a fly in my food!!!!! I brought it to the manager viv attention and she was so rude and completely ignored us!!! Horrible management!!! Don’t know how they are open!! First and last visit
To be fair I can't actually tell you how the food is. I've attempted to eat there 3 times in the last 2 months unsuccessfully.2 months ago I ordered a shrimp burrito online and was called on the way saying they won't be open for a kitchen incident.A month ago I went in and was told they were out of shrimp.Today I went in and was told they are out of shrimp.I'm starting to think they really don't have shrimp and it's just some ploy to order something else.Has anyone ever actually had a shrimp burrito from this place?? I don't plan on a 4th attempt, but if you have ever been blessed enough to have one let me know how it was. I've put enough time in I just want to hear about it.
My family has been to chronic taco in Utah and we’re obsessed with the fish and shrimp tacos. We live in Arizona and went to try this location. Everyone in my family agrees this was the worst meal we’ve ever had in our life. Got to chronic taco. We thought it was a great idea because our fam loves chronic taco.Out of fish. Out of shrimp. Ordered other meats. Lady was so quiet talking to us I had to have her repeat everything. She was super slow using the computer. Obviously new. Understandable but there was another coworker there who wasn’t even helping and he was just watching her struggle. Music was way too loud too so that didn’t help. Then it took quite a while for our food to be done especially since it's supposed to be a quick place like cafe Rio.Got our food. We were missing one drink. Two sides. And some tacos were missing the toppings we asked for.We all took a first bite. Meat was cold, chewy, tough asada.White rice was over cooked or undercooked. Can't tell but it was hard and dry.They made okay beans but that's about it. Which is pathetic because you can’t really mess up beans.We skipped over food in two other cities to wait to eat there. It was so bad. They also ran out of bowls so half of our food came in Togo plates.Meal cot us $50. But honestly they should have PAID us $59 to consume their food. It should not be allowed to serve customers cold, dry, stale food that has been sitting out. Never coming back and I hope this location closes so that no one else ever has to have a meal as terrible as this one.
We went to the chiropractor next door and opted to give this place a try for a birthday lunch right after. Nevermind the fact that the patio would make you think the place was closed. We should have gone to chipotle. You walk in thinking you'll do the same as you do at chipotle, be greeted, order taken and instruct what you would like on your burrito bowl. We stood near the tortilla warmer looking at the menu with someone named Kat at the register. After a few more minutes, she said she would help us at the register. Another minute later, another gal came from the back and did not acknowledge us but grabbed gloves and went back into the back room area. Kat said she would help us at the register (again) so we walked to the register and gave our order, a Baja burrito bowl with carnitas. Kat seemed incredibly bothered to even take our order, not a smile, no cheer in her voice. We were going to do half black beans and half pinto but as soon as I asked if we could do half black beans, kat moved onto the next step. We said oh well and went with it... The photo is right after opening the bowl's lid. Where's the meat at? There's hardly any, the rice is hard, the bowl is mostly cabbage. After we ate what we could stomach, my other half went in to refill our drink and no one was in the lobby nor behind the counter. After this experience, we will never return nor recommend.
These workers are absolute idiots. My chronic fries came with meat and cheese only. None of the advertised toppings were present. None of the toppings I paid extra for were present. My Sprite and churro bites were missing all together. They then blocked my review on DoorDash, so I am taking to every other platform to explain how retarded their workers are.
I like this chain, in general, tho this location didn't really have their act together very well. It was still decent, tho. Hopefully they get it together soon and run it a little more effectively.Edited to say: thanks to the local owner for replying. The problems we had were that they were completely out of everything except chicken and pork (no beef, shrimp, or fish at all, crazy), and they seemed to not really know what was going on and were very confused. Also we had to ask for forks and that was apparently difficult for them. In any case, the food we did get was decent.
Food was cold. Portions were minimal. Couldn't even see the meat on the burrito bowl. Felt like I was eating a bowl of beans rice and cabbage. Customer service was HORRIBLE. Wasn't even greeted when we walked in and we were treated as if we were inconveniencing the staff by being there. Would never come here again and I advise anyone thinking of going to just go to the chipotle in the same complex
The food was decent but I had issue with the portions. I got a spoon worth of rice and beans as a side. They portions literally covered only the bottom layer of their containers. Its sad, I paid $10 for two tacos and almost nothing worth of sides. Not worth it
