My wife and I took are little sister here for her first day of moving into college. We had such a good time and had the best server she was so nice and did a great job. The duck Al pastor was very good and my wife got the pork verde which was done to perfection.

This is our 3rd time here; the food is amazing, the service was good, and maybe a tad slow, but overall we love this place.

The Mexican chop salad had no flavor despite having so many flavorful ingredients. The server forgot we existed several times.

Chico Malo is my go to spot for stressful dinners where I just need everything to go right. Usually they deliver. Tonight I had my 75 year old mom with a seed allergy. She got the scallops and asked to know if there were seeds added to anything. The server said she would check and make sure nothing came out with seeds. When the dish came it was missing an entire side. The server and additional employee told us the scallops only came with one side. Our server said she would get the menu and show us. She got the menu and it did list another side. She then said. Oh ya that had seeds on it so we just left it off. That was half the meal. For $32 I would expect someone to come out right away and ask what could be substituted. Instead she told us that it only came with brocollini and upon showing us the menu and the menu proving her wrong she then did ask if my mom wanted to order an additional side. No mention of a replacement just a suggestion to order more stuff. It was just a messed up situation. I was trying my best to create a memorable night for my mom. I think itâs time to move on from Chico Malo. Sad face.
We have been there several times when downtown for sports and concerts. Every dish we've ordered has been outstanding. Most recently the carne asada and chorizo mashed potatoes were excellent. Highly recommended.
We sat outside and misters were on so it was hot but manageable. We started with Margaritas and Ceviche. Both were good. I had the cauliflower steak and it was very tasty. I was told it was on a bed of guacamole but it came over beans. My friend had a pork dish that was kinda pink so they got her something different. All in all it was a nice meal.
